Galaxy S8 and S8+ to be even more expensive than previously thought

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2017In what way is it annoying? Bit of a vague trolling stateme... moreIt is annoying because the Snapdragon 820 variant stutters and gets warmer quickly compared to other flagships.
Go use the Google Maps and you can see it stutter when it zooms into the location. The yellowish screen is also too warm for my taste. And the dual curved display can be irritating to type on.
Among all the 9 phones I currently own, the HTC One M7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are the laggiest and maybe worse than my $180 LG G3 Beat with only 1gb RAM. Even my Note 3 with SD800 feels more fluid than the S7e SD820.
The irony here is my glacial silver M7 and platinum S7e have the prettiest design but both stutter the worst. Looks fade. Performance matters.

AnonD-307714, 23 Mar 2017All, if you think its too expensive and the cost difference... moreYou talk utter rubbish! As a Note 7 purchaser but sadly not owner, I was hoping the S8 plus would fill the void but sadly it's not, No Spen, No 4K screen,Smaller battery than S7 edge, 4 Gig of Ram unless you live China when you get 6 gig.
For me I wanted an S8 plus to keep me going until the Note 8 surfaces and yes I could afford both easily.
The AKG headphones are not even confirmed and most headphones issued by makers are cheap inferior ones, Meaning you buy your own better ones.
In a nutshell is the S8 or S8 plus with 4 gig of Ram, An 10mm processor be it SD835 or Exynos 8895 and Bixby worth the price?
No!
Regardless of my income and disposable income I won't waste my cash!
As the saying goes...... A fool and his money are easily parted.

They think people are fools, the value has hit rock bottom, and they add insult to injury by robbing you of an additional 2 GB of ram. I have an S6 edge+ and it looks like my days of using Samsung will come to an end when I upgrade that device in the future. One friend asked me if I think he should go for the S8+ when it comes out. If all these rumors are true I think you know what I'm telling him when I see him again.
It doesn't matter how wealthy you are as intelligent people don't overpay for substandard goods.

AnonD-643350, 23 Mar 2017Samsung wants to compensate it's loss from Note 7 fiadco,bu... moreNonsense. Is Apple's iphone 8 going to be a lot more expensive, as rumoured, because of Samsung's Note recall?
Samasung is reportedly having low yields on their 10nm process being used to make the Exynos and Qualcom SOCs going into the S8, making them more expensive. That, and Bixby and the other new features are more likely to be the reason for the increased prices.
The iPhone 8 is rumoured to likely cost a lot more also. Seems to be a trend.

Sure Europeans are richer so you might charge them more for the S8 yet they are wiser than what you think,if they were not wise they were not rich,so be logical about the pricing and try not to bring the money that you lost in Note 7 story back home like this

The idea that there is or should be equal pricing in Eurozone member countries is wrong.
Member countries set their own taxes, like VAT, which varies significantly between countries, making phones more expensive in some, than in others.
The cost of cars varies a lot: Pity the Danes and the Irish.

Samsung wants to compensate it's loss from Note 7 fiadco, but they must understand that customers must not pay for their faults it's them who must bare the consequences, so be wise enough to modify the price before customers show you that they are wise enough not to let you play the act of devil

Avoid the Snapdragon variant if you want smooth UI. I do DoorDash on the side and the app animation stutters from one menu screen to another. Nova Launcher Prime and 0.5x animation can't prevent the lag and stutter. It is worse than the HTC One M7 and Moto E 2nd gen which do hiccup themselves. But one is a 4-year old device and the other only cost me $30. Unacceptable for flagships.
Perhaps never again with Samsung. I already had a bad experience with my first Samsung product back in 2006. It was a DVD-R player. It wouldn't turn on right away, no instructions for me to hook it up, and the quality of the recording is terrible if played on another player.
I only will keep the S7 edge for water-resistance and the occasional way if killing time with Gear VR which is pretty terrible and gimmicky so far. But don't believe in their marketing hype. Losing the home button means accidental presses between the space bar and on-screen home button.
Just wait for the Note8 with 6gb RAM because Samsung users need all the RAM they can get. Android has a smaller footprint since KitKat's Project Svelte. It is simply unacceptable that a Nexus 5 with only 2gb of RAM can run smoother than a S7 edge with 4gb and faster SoC.

I had a gs3. After 2 battery change i bought gs6.
Now my phone get out of battery (display says 0%) and after that when i switch it on it says 15% of battery left.
It is a problem that all samsung phones have(after more or less 500 cycles). I really like my gs6 but i had other brands like sony and in terms of battery they were really better(i have a xperia tablet z2 with 800 or more cycles and the battery accuracy its firm)
I will skip this gs8.. but i need to change my phone or my battery...
I think i will give a try to huawei p10 plus. They are offering a photo pack that costs 150€. The phone is 799 but with that offer is like 649€

Considering how good mid range devices are ( say Honor 8, Samsung A 2017 series, even OnePlus 3T and some Xperia models) there is no much reason to buy such expensive flagships. May be only if you play very heavy games. Even 1 year ago situation was completely different but now everything has changed and all these flagships in most cases just don't worth buying. One can easily get two excellent phones for the price of 1 flagship. Or get a phone + entry level DSLR camera with lens. Or phone and good tablet. Or phone and 1 week of hotel room for vacation. There are much better ways to spend a price difference between a flagship and excellent mid range smartphone.
