WOrld1, 24 Mar 2017Tell me how 3t is outdated, it has latest Android release a... moreIt's outdated in the sense this so-called "flagship killer" already costs the same as the flagship it was trying to kill (Galaxy S7), without the same local support Samsung has or any clear advantage to overcome the shortcomings and fight at the same price-point, all while the Galaxy S8 and a whole new wave of flagships are already on their way (therefore a successor to OP3T *must* be soon to be announced).
What do you call a model that no longer does what it was set to do and is about to be replaced?

oneplus 3T is great looking device and comes with a great specs and it is priced almost the same with samsung flagship like the s7 right now. It is not wise idea to buy this one compared to flagships with same price like the lg v20,galaxy s7 edge.

So much noise for one black color???
My old old old, but gold NOKIA N8 was black - adonized aluminum and that was 8-9 year ago.
Was scratch resisted and very durable phone. NOKIA was aware how to make black and durable phone, long before OnePlus be born. And they do not make such videos for one stupid color. Pure marketing tricks.
And they made black after saw Apple do it. Stupid.
OnePlus are just copycats.

It said "sold ou... moreexactly. I was there millisecond after the site got live (the button appeared) and first one was 502 error, then the site appeared and was immediately sold out. Countless of refreshes and no go. Wanted it as a gift, but whatever. There are better phones anyway.
Just a marketing stunt, nothing else. Soon available on oneplus.net website - in quantities. No-one is buying one year old phone so this black edition marketing comes handy. They needed to get rid of the stock before new generation comes out.

I cant stop laughing when some OEM say why and how they make specific color, like how many designers need to think about it, how many test they need to do...
Its just pure company-gibberish talk. Creating specific finish or color is not rocket science. its pure knowledge of production process and materials specifications. Once you know with what material you gonna work, all you need to do is... choose color.
All that fancy names that companies always use, are actually really easy to get. Even specific finish of metal is easy to do if you have tools for it. Sometimes its cheaper to make eg, metallic mat- black or half-gloss red than typical black or white, and people pay for it even x2 more...

OnePlus seems to use much better materials than everyone else so far and heres why, all of these proven and shown by JerryRigEverything:
1. Sapphire coating on the OnePlus 3T rear lens is more scratch resistant than most (luxury manufacturers like Feld & Volk, Vertu, etc., use real sapphires which are similar or slightly stronger than what we see on this phone) other smartphones on the market and it definetly beats the Iphone "Sapphire laminates" which scratch at the level of tempered glass .-.
2. Ceramic fingerprint scanner, similar to what Xiaomi implemented in the Mi Mix body. The thing is, Samsung and literally every other manufacturer use Plastic finger scanners and only Apple and another handful use actual scratch resistant glass, but OnePlus offering is still superior in terms of durability.
3. An anti-fingerprint coating on black aluminium shell, implemented on a "mid tier phone from a mid tier company", miles superior to the scratch, smudge and oil magnet that the Iphone matte black and jet black colours attract.
Its very rare to see someone doing the best they can with the small details most people dont care about, but enthusiasts may actually care. OnePlus rocks in that department.

i don't get the hype. why get a oneplus 3t black ed. when you can just wait for 2017 model (oneplus4?) which should be just around the corner? so 2016 tech w/o discount because of the color? then this gimmick of making it hard to buy?well since oneplus claim that they are "aware of what the customer wants" then the new model should come in black as well. if not, well...they are not the only ones selling black phones these days.

This was just a PR stunt!
Even the regular 128gb version was hard to get.
And this is a special version of it...
All the purpos here was to create buzz, not to really sell!
