Imagine yourself in Apple's marketing board room. The meeting start with.... How can we boost iPhone sales? and its product line.......
Dont tell me the meeting started with... What can apple do to support charity? (Bite me hard lol.)
Marketing are devious acts that misleads, play with wordings, cloaks under the "charity" as charity in itself is a positive word that touches the emotional part of human nature. and millions more.
Buy it if you really need an iPhone, but just for the sake of having red or to support charity ......Big NO.

In a way I see the criticism but its just a very public and almost hipster-like way of declaring that you are aware of charitable opportunities. I can't see it making a deep impact personally. They are only available in the largest of sizes and aside from exclusivity, offer nothing above the standard editions.
Of course Apple is vague about how much it donates to charities. Can you imagine the backlash if the gave a figure to it. e.g. 5%. Consumers will say why so little? Investors will say why so much?
I feel like Apple missed a small opportunity here to release the airpods in some new colours to make up for the lack of supply for them.

Isn't it bad enough that iPhone charges such extortionate prices for a simple mediocre device already, Like someone else stated with all there profits tax evasion they could quite happily give millions to charities.
Now they paint a phone red and expect us mugs to buy there cr*p. Also one important thing for Apple I hate charities and don't give to them! So your red phone is a complete waste!

GPU is from a 2015 iPhone 6s. However, at 2048 x 1536 screen resolution there are over 3 times the pixels to display. Can't be good for display speed. Come on CRAPPLE, you can do better than that. Give us a half price iPad 9.7 Pro!!!

I am realy not fan of the "new" iPad being worse than it's predecesor.
Display not laminated, without anti-reflective coating, thicker, more heavy.

"Apple was on fire this week - it unveiled the iPhone 7 (Product) Red, doubled the storage of the iPhone SE, unveiled a new, cheaper iPad 9.7, it even added more watch strap options."
Red version is just a paint, and cheap "we are supporting charities" advertising, Because they could give those money by them self, just like that, and Apple wallet would not even notice that.
Double storage of SE version should be made long time ago, especially when beside Xperia Compact series, iPhone SE is only competitor for it in small phones market.
New straps are total joke.... you need to be on drugs to advertise such thing as "something new and cool"
As for cheaper iPad... its like selling old parts that where gathering in the back of factory...
