It would have been nice to see the iconic swivel screen come back but not everyone agrees. This phone is just another generic Android smartphone with its usual features. It does NOT deserve any names related to the T-Mobile Sidekick/hiptop. It is completely different.

Rest in Peace to the original Hiptop Line of Devices :)
You have served me well. Thank you.

Big bulky ugly. Not up to date with todays design standards.

Motorola use to have something similar to this on the Australian market sold exclusively by Telstra. Only problem is - majority of them would eventually get jammed and would be unable to close... Hope this wont be the same.

hmmm.. this should be an economical one..because:

                                3 MP Camera
                                No Flash
                                No AMOLED or Super-AMOLED screen

It is going to have 256 ram too probably.. that is why no 2.3 (gingerbread).

But i got to say...this is going to be a huge hit in younger audience ! (which i think this Sidekick is targeting)

Yeah, we'be been talking about this for months over on Tmonews. Only problem is that its a Samsung phone trying to cash in on the Sidekick name. It's good to see Sidekick come back though regardless.

Once again, Samsung screwed T-Mobile. Why produce a newer generation of the Sidekick line, feed it Android, give a 4G radio, and still not a flash for the camera? I mean what the heck were they thinking? They did the same with the Galaxy S and now this? I just hope the GPS radio works and they provide updates for this one they've thrown on us. That's why I never buy Samsung phones. Their TVs are great, but since I got the U700 and it died after two months, I've never bought another Samsung phone. They have 1 less customer to please now.

although i am a big sidekick fan, i really must say that this version is most disappointing in the design area... it's a big no-no in my book... i am really starting to reconsider. all grats to the guys for what they put in it but the design of the thing lacks the sidekick feel.

Remember though it's not going to be a danger device. It's going to be Samsung. So how will the android OS upgrades go. Will it be slow like the others or will they change it up on us. I'm pretty excited to see the full 5 row qwerty back though.
