Even though the phone is about 4 months old with the November release, this is still a pretty good buy for the under $500 price tag, and people will still buy it even with a color change. Besides, I'm honestly believing OnePlus is doing not just for an additional color scheme, but I also think it buys them time for what they want for their next "flagship killer" because they can go several routes with the OnePlus 5 or...4. Just keep in mind, this phone may probably go up again in price.

Prices have changed. Hard to be a "flagship killer" when (at the same price) you have no local support centers across the globe, little to no accessories in local shops worldwide and even in the best of lights your flagship's only traded blows with the similarly priced Galaxy S7.
Sure, the OP3T came many months after so it has a newer SoC, nevertheless the Exynos is no slouch, the S7 is also water-resistant, has a better camera, better screen (technology and resolution), an impressive array of sensors, features expandable storage via microSD and actually won awards for being the best.
Don't like Touchwizz? Install Nova, any other launcher from the vast choice Android gives you, or get Lineage. It's that simple.
Today it's only the S7, prices for others will also fall shortly. OP3T pricing is idiotic for this stage of the cycle.

The fact you are pondering buying multiple units of this speaks volumes of the success they are having with this strategy!
Being scroogy and shady appears to be in their DNA.

its nice but new phone would be better, there is a new huawei and a new xiaomi coming very soon, id rather buy a new xiaomi than "old" 1+ 3t
