Plus the camera is superb, one of the top leading in the same price segment, maybe even the best of them all. You do need to take into consideration the additional amazing freebies if you pre-order it in Malaysia; stereo BT headset (what iPhone 7 & 7 Plus users truly need instead of AirPogs lol), Sony's own fast charger, and a silicon case w/ tempered glass (even Samsung skips this on their flagships). For $150 more, I don't find the G6 to have any edge against the XZs. SD821 is relatively similar to that of the SD820 so no point arguing there. G6 has 2:1 display, and while it's great for productivity, it's no use for multimedia as not every video/app is in the same ratio as the screen, leaving black bars on left and right of the display. Battery is negligible as the 3,300mAh battery of the G6 has to power a 5.7" QHD+ display, while the 2,900mAh battery of the XZs only needs to power a 5.2" FHD display, and besides, the lower XZ scored similar endurance rating here in GSMArena as the G6 (tied at 72h). Display is, like the battery, no point of an argument since both are exceptional panels, but if there's a slight win, it would be for the XZs for offering better visibility outdoors (LG always have some terrible outdoor viewing displays, and my sister's G4 is even lower in brightness in comparison to my 720p display phone in direct sunlight). Design, a subjective part, so again no point of argument. Audio is something comparable on both, so assuming the G6 has Quad DAC, I do believe the XZs has some tough battle here, so for internal audio, I'd give it to LG, but for speaker, there's no beating of true stereo dual front-facing ones. Camera is of no contest. Comparing the two cameras is like comparing the quality of the Galaxy S6 to the iPhone 4s - totally no competition. Btekt made a quick comparison of the two where the G6 showed some slight blur while the XZs produced a very sharp, blur-free image. That's technically having to do with the sensor size being degraded from a flagship 1/2.6" down to a mid range 1/3.06" size (iPhone cameras are of the same size and have terrible quality photos, though the G6 does better but not enough to beat larger sensor cameras like the S7 Edge and XZs).
As for the XA1, right I'm somewhat underwhelmed for the lack of fp scanner and relatively small battery. I could deal with some tiny side bezels to pack the fp scanner (but make the top and bottom ones even smaller), and even if it makes the phone about 8.5mm thick, I'd get it if it will have at least about 3,000mAh battery. Nonetheless I'm still good with the phone, especially with the good freebies going for it. J7 Prime, a similarly priced phone in Malaysia, only have the fingerprint scanner, display, and battery as an advantage over the XA1, everything else the XA1 rocks over the J7 Prime any day

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2017Really wish they waited and released the XZs with the 835 S... moreXZs is not supposedly Sony's top end flagship this year, rather just a preview image of the incredible camera of the XZ Premium since both offer the same camera hardware. Besides, SD820 isn't that bad at all, and for its camera, it's really worth the $650 price. The reason that the G6 is considered as 'overpriced' is for a fact that it basically offers ONLY good STB ratio, with everything else totally maintained and some are degraded. For instance, they improved the display quality, and destroyed the camera quality too much, that its quality is mid range categorized only. Battery was significantly improved, but they broke it by not offering Qi Wireless Charging and Quad DAC on literally every single country.
But that has nothing to do with the XZs. I just said it to say why the XZs isn't really overpriced at all. S8 and S8+ are going to be costing $1,000 yet none of the two will be able to do the 960fps Slow Motion recording of the XZs

Really wish they waited and released the XZs with the 835 SoC and a bigger battery. Would have been all over this. XZ Preimum is just way too big of a phone for me.

But HD screen is a disappointm... moreI don't see HD resolution is really that bad especially for that screen size, at 5.0", you'll hardly even notice a pixel. The advantage here is the IPS technology, with RGB pattern of pixels, which means it's sharper than an AMOLED Diamond Pentile structure pattern of the pixels, so the XA1's display is just as sharp as that of the A5 2017, maybe even more because it's of a smaller components. Maybe I'll say the fail part is the battery size and presence of fingerprint scanner, in which seemed to be a little odd at this price range (LG K10 2017 for $200 has the same battery capacity, and the more expensive J5 2016 for $250 has 800mAh more juice) but given the amount of battery optimization to the software, I do find the phone to last for 1.5 days at moderate usage. I can pass for the fingerprint scanner since I'm not fond of using one, but after using a Zenfone Max, I can no longer get back to a small battery-sized phone.
