The Amazon Appstore is now live - and is already in trouble. First things first though, you can download Angry Birds Rio from the Amazon App Store today while it's free (it won't be tomorrow). And as for the trouble...

Seems to be US only at the moment. It would have been nice if the GSM Arena team pointed that out, it would have saved me 15 minutes of messing around only to be told once you finally get round to trying to download anything!

U.S. only, not much better than apple again... when you make apps easy and affordable world-wide, then piracy will die down... until then, things like this only fuel the flames...

LOL this is crazy... Apple suing Amazon for the name "AppStore". It's like one restaurant suing another restaurant for naming their restaurant so and so with the word "Restaurant" in it. hahaha wtf

Apple the biggest patent infringer out there, claiming words that are in the English Dictionary as there's? This suit will never win, ever

Amazon couldn't afford to advertise the Amazon Appstore on every technology blog, and news outlet worldwide...
Thanks to Apple they don't need to.

I can't download the app. Tried by there site, says number is not recognised. Tried searching "amazon.com" in android market but nothing there.

Maybe it's down to avoid the law suit?

                                  Anyone else having same issue?
