06 April 2017
Slowly, but surely, the new OS version is hitting more and more wearables.

BillyUK, 08 Apr 2017My update arrived yesterday for the Urbane (UK). This vers... morewhat are some of the improvements, the main issues that i keep getting on the current OS is it stops responding every now and again randomly. i'm still very unsure if the new OS is stable after reports of that glitch so i'm reluctant to move from an OS that sometime freezes to one that (potentially could) break the watch

My update arrived yesterday for the Urbane (UK). This version of Wear is the best yet and breathes life into an 'old' watch - it flows really well and no longer feels disjointed and dated. Really impressed. Will wait to see what the battery life is like but if I get a full day from it, i'm happy.

mNiosu, 07 Apr 2017It's not LG updating them but Google. Wear platform is not ... moreThat's not true.

            Google makes the AndroidWear OS.
It hands it out to its partner OEMs.
They are allowed to modify it, with permission from Google
(this usually involves Settings, Apps, and Watch Faces).

But it is up to the OEMs to push out updates for AndroidWear.
Google will make improvements (eg AW 1.0, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 etc etc).
And Google will provide OEMs with the base OS for these.
It's upto the OEMs to get the base OS, modify it for their existing devices, iron-out bugs, then push out OTA updates to active units.

Now since the modifications are little (ie/ no TouchWizz skin) its relatively easy and quick for OEMs to actually make the update for their device (eg/ LG Urbane).
However, OEMs are lazy. They don't wanna waste time and money on an update to customers that already have paid for the device.

And Google has been quite lazy in developing the AndroidWear platform.
It's no secret AW (fork/closed source) is built out of the AOSP.
But its really bad faith from Google... that's exactly why people are happy with iPhones and iWatches... because they know Apple actually cares about freely supporting devices that have been sold already.

xXoXx, 07 Apr 2017LG you are a shame, really...nobody cares about Wear, nobod... moreIt's not LG updating them but Google. Wear platform is not as open as Android on phones. Manufacturers can only add watch faces to them but the system is made and updated by Google not them.

LG you are a shame, really...nobody cares about Wear, nobody cares about smartwatches!!!

Why you are updating this crappy things and not your phones instead?! Really, my V10 are waiting for Nougat for long long time, you dont deserve nothing! This is my last LG phone i guarantee.

Is a shame, your wear gadget getting updates and your phone dont. You have learn nothing from the past...and you will lose all clients.
