it seems like an interesting phone, specially the super slow-mo feature, but the 1s max shutter speed killed it for me.

    AnonD-523334, 09 Apr 2017I'm holding for either XZP or OP5 or Mi6. I would be holdin... morecant agree with you .
    I have both z3 and X and x have higher colour coverage than z3 .
    For those people who look at the spec on paper its hard to spot something that is so obvious .

      AnonD-628531, 09 Apr 2017You could have just said: SONY needs to stop being unique ... moreCouldn't agree more. Actually at one point (from z3 to Z5) , the rectangular design started to feel boring and unexciting, but fast forward to 2017, actually only Sony phones are "iconic" and" signature " in terms of design.
      But I think they should trim their bezels a bit at least if do not want to ride on bezelless train. G6 side bezels and a bit bigger top and bottom bezels to keep their stereo speakers, work on volume and clarity of speakers, get rid off those artifacts which still remain after years of photography experience of Sony, and stop being so stingy for RAM.

        Tell me a reason to get this phone and I will get it.

          Tom-Helge, 09 Apr 2017The question is rather, why should i go for a butt ugly Son... moreI'm also not a fan of Sony, neither I'm waiting for XZs. But your question is absurd. there is much more to a phone than a display. S8 is all glass and quiet fragile. Not everyone likes glass made phones. if you want galaxy S8 (specially black) to look as good all day as it looked in the morning, you will have to wipe it 30 times a day. Or for a little safety, you'd like to slap a cover on it which will shed all its beauty. There are no front facing speaker and the single bottom speaker is mono. Ever felt the excellent built quality of XZ? It says "strength" . The new motion eye camera may or may not be a big deal depending upon who you ask. I think S8 is indeed beautiful, and display is great, but aesthetics aside, to be honest, it is same last year's S7 edge with a taller display and new processor upgrade which is given . Nothing new. No one is going to use Bixby anyway.

            Tom-Helge, 09 Apr 2017The question is rather, why should i go for a butt ugly Son... mores8 has more butt holes than any devices! it ain't beautiful at all. but specs wise its the beast.

              No because I just bought the Xperia XZ about a month and a half ago.

                "absolutely NOT" could be a good choice for option 4;

                  Nice, still 54% of the voters or the visitors of this site prefer Sony over other brands, keep in mind, the first three choices are positive towards sony.

                    The question is rather, why should i go for a butt ugly Sony phone with a poor LCD screen when i can go for a super beautiful Samsung Galaxy S8 with the best screen ever that is basicly in the same size as the Sony Xperia XZs even though the Galaxy S8 have a 0.6 inch bigger screen?

                          I have their Xperia X right now, it is okay for what I paid. The thing is the some of the apps that come with it are useless. I want to delete and save space (for example the calculator, useless, I downloaded a better one), Also with the old z3 I had I could screen grab a short video but not with the x experia x. I hope new phone has this back. Otherwise I like the clean look design, stands out from all the other lookalikes.

                                These incremental upgrades aren't something I get too excited about. They are mainly for people who an older device. If you have an XZ right now, that camera and extra gig of RAM is not worth another $700 dollars.That's coming from a diehard Sony fan. But coming from something like the Z5 or even older, it's more justifiable to spend it. Sony phones always have price cuts anyway during the first couple months of release. I'll be holding out for the XZP simply because I want the successor to my current Z5P. I wasn't very interested in the X Performance, or XZ too much except for the updated camera. XZs is still too incremental even considering my 'ancient' phone. I want to keep my screen size and I've gotten used to seeing my photos and videos in 4K glory. The wow factor I still get when I look at them and when I show other people is something I've come accustomed to. I don't get what the problem with bezels is about either. I switched from a Galaxy S3 to the Xperia Z3 and felt the phone and bezels were huge. But guess what? 3 days later it felt like the phone shrunk because I got used to it. I wanted something bigger. Then I got my Z5P and it felt monstrous yet again. But I got used to it again and have come to love the premium form factor the body gives. Looking at pictures online and actually using the device for a while are two different things. You just get used to it, just like upsizing your new TV. Still haven't gotten used to my Note 12.2 though haha

                                  Hold out for the XZ Premium in my opinion.

                                    I'm sorry Sonny, those bezels are disgusting. LCD IPS is also a nightmare.

                                      I'm holding for either XZP or OP5 or Mi6. I would be holding just for the XZP, but Sony problems, ie artifacts, noise, corner softness, lower than average RAM, and and once lauded Sony battery life is gone. (RAM is just 1GB more since Z2, that itself is enough to prove XZP has low RAM. At least XZP, which is decidedly premium, and has an overkill display, should have 6GB at least. Z3 was last good phone from Sony. Had best battery life of all Sony Xperia flagships, and best of all flagships at the time (only second to Note4, but it was other category, and Z3C beat note 4 in battery life.) enough RAM for the time, enough processing power and enough display.
