Apple outsources majority of its components from other companies but Samsung can do without depending on other manufacturers. Universal supplies around 60% of total panels used by Samsung. Samsung is the one who does the remaining and also does for other manufacturers.

RaghavaZ, 10 Apr 2017What's your point? Universal and Samsung are both at profit... more3d tech is not even apple's tech in the first place, not even the iphone 6. Synaptic is an expert in this field, but apple did not use their tech for the iphone 6. So who could've done it for Apple, then? Now that Apple had an agreement with Samsung, I don't think Samsung had the expertise of providing the 3d touch technology for Apple.

Anonymous , 10 Apr 2017I have provided the proof below, and if you still deny this... moreYour proof is invalid. If you can't accept what i said in my reply then you are the ignorant guy. There is a reason why Apple and Samsung made a deal for OLED panels, because Apple knows that Samsung is the only one which can provide 70 million panels without any delay and it has the capacity to do so. If Samsung's panels are so issue prone, Apple wouldn't have approached Samsung in the first place. You provided a junk link and calling me as ignorant. Wow. If that link has any useful info then other major tech sites would also have published it. It didn't happen till now so it's useless info. In reality Samsung has been using these curved panels since 3 years without any production issues.

I think you hate Samsung and want to project this supposed delay in iPhone 8's release as Samsung's fault. This article clearly shows Apple's 3d sensing tech as the culprit.

Considering that apple sells over 200 millions of iphones (mix of new and last gen models), it can very well be possible that iphone 8 sells 70 millions alone on the first few months of availability.
