FCC Chairman just shot down proposal to allow voice calls, in-flight

US FCC Chairman Ajit Pai released a statement voicing his strong opposition to the 2013 proposal that would allow passengers to use their mobile phones to make phone calls during a flight.

      Its already there at Fly Emirates with higher price tag.

        Fair and fine to use your phone for anything but a phone call. It's just really disrespectful to those around you, and really, really annoying.

          Common courtesy - the noise levels on a plane are already high, so that forces people to talk even louder. Now, I don't need to be available for business talks when traveling, and I don't want having to be available.

            Please do NOT allow calls in the air. It is so unneccessary and people do not need to call everytime. One can imagine the noise and disturbance there will be on the plane if this was allowed.

              There could be one emergency VoIP line on the plane for usage during flights. There can be a light which when it is red or green means you can not or you could call respectively.

              It should be with the cabin crew. Because phone calls already disturb fellow passengers.

                It's not really something they want to do. They just want to fight the law, the rules, the fact. These people just want to go against the barrier to cause wars and chit. Attention seeking horses

                  not advisable too...radio frequency...allowing to make calls during flight is not a good idea at all

                      A flight full of phones ringing and morons having a conversation.. that is a serious issue

                        Well I guess it fine..
                        One can live without making a call for some hours. Anyways I don't want to hear my fellow passengers bulsh**t.
