A mobile phone although should always have an option to use a manual mode still should be decided mainly based of its automatic shooting capability.
This is simply a RIDICULOUS choice for a camera phone!

Okay, so the auto mode isn't that impressive. It's always been that way with Sony phones. But did everyone not see the huge improvement when you know the settings to use in manual mode? Letting the phone try to figure it out versus you knowing what to do and having the equipment to do it (which is just a tripod pretty much) is going to net you completely different results. That goes for anyone phone

As usually... Sony phones have the worst camera performance.
These tests prove that the high megapixel number means nothing. Sony's camera is horrible.

There is no point getting an XZs or any Sony Xperia phone unless you're a phone. Pretty much anything in the market is better than Sony.

I am not surprised. This is a new sensor. Sony always takes its time improving the results. Just remember the purple shots of the Z5. This will get better, plus I'd accept the quality loss for the camera experience. No other can deliver it. The shutter button, pre-focus, app layout and the presets. It feels like a real camera. Color is more important than details imo. I didn't realize this until I changed brands.

Wow! So many blind fans. XZs has only one thing on point, and thats speed of the camera. Nothing else. Too much aggressive noise reduction has smeared out everything. The green fence aroung the basketball court is very difficult to distinguish from each other. All the buildings have become oil painting. Those saying XZs killed iPhone, the number to any of the cars in the first image is not readable in XZs shot. Even the phone number on the left most side modded pickup truck or whatever is blurred on XZs shot.
The only 2 things in favour of XZs when comparing to iPhone 7 were FoV and Saturation and Vibrance.
People admiring that level of saturation are perhaps those who criticised Samsung few years back for the same.

AnonD-39937, 11 Apr 2017people say that the low-light photos made by XZs are bad? t... moreWell NO. Those who have human eyes can't agree with that unfortunately. Don't know how to process photos with Avatar-ish eyes though.
The phone can't come anywhere close to S7, S8, Pixel, G6, P10, LOL! A mid range camera on a typically high price tag, absolutely stupid.
And yes, iPhone low light samples LOOK better than this. Those have less noise, and the photos do look natural although muted. But that's the thing, natural is muted anyway. XZs does make it look lively, but its a noisy mess.
One of the worst camera samples I have seen, fairly simple to deduct from the samples. And at the asking price its an utter joke.
The reason I am bothering to comment here by the way was because I was actually interested in buying this, if it had an acceptable camera.
