LG KE850, KE770, KG910 at iF design

17 Jan, 2007
While browsing through the iF product design awards 2007 we noticed not one, but three unannounced LG phones - KE850, KE770 and KG910. The LG KE850, also known as "Prada phone"...

the touchscreen thing on the prada must be pressure sensitive so that if ever user wants his/her fingers or the stylus to tap the menus it will work. not the finger tap only touchscreen. for me it isn't great.

There's a phone similar to the KG910 in South-East Asia already. It's the KG810. I can't tell the difference between the KG910 and KG810 as they look identical...

As for the Shine series, there will be 3 phones to it if I'm not wrong.

            A bar (KE770)
            A slider (KE970?)
            A clamshell (KEXX0)

Apple, LG and Asus phones are a big threat to the big 3 (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung).

LG deliberately steals names from SE line phones (K800, W850, K750...etc.)

--> No. KE and KG are prefixes for GSM products while U means UMTS phone such as U880, U830 and so on. The number is not copied from SE product lines, because there is no meaning of copying that, considering KE850 is not a music phone.

That Prada branded phone is nice looking. I'd love to see the specs for it if anyone had access to them. However, a nice looking phone doesn't necessarily mean a highly functional phone.

                      I should know I had a Motorola V3i - what a crap - before I ditched for a SE W810i.

the prada phone is nothing more than the same old touchscreens that suck today. that's why we don't like them, they suck!!

apple iPhone is futuristic, Multi-touch. something we've never seen in a consumer product.

                          http://www.apple.com/iphone

that's where Apple has the 200 patents, in the interface. that is what will separate the iPhone from this.

not bad...LG getting better day by day.But the 'prada' would be nicer with 3G spec.

LG, Apple and even Motorola did not copy from each other but from Philips and the S900 phone. Just too bad that Philips has limited availability of the S900 to a few Asian countries when it could have improved the unit and sold it worldwide.

How could someone say this is a copy of the ROKR E6? have you actually seen ROKR E6 and KE850 side by side? LG clearly has the better design! even look more sophisticated!

How can apple or LG sue each other. Yes the design is intellectual property but the shape and both having a touchscreen does not have the ability to be copywrited.
Can sony sue nokia for having buttons on their phone just because one had it first?
