I hope for them skipping the OnePlus 4 won't make this end up like the Galaxy Note 7 which should have been called Note 6.

3000 maH for a QHD display with 6 to 8GB monster specs will not suffice..Oneplus needs to pack in atleast 3500 maH battery

LegendoftheBlueSea, 13 Apr 2017so its 6 then ?Technically, yes it is supposedly the 6th generation Oneplus. 1+1, 1+2, 1+X, 1+3, 1+3T, & 1+5. And seeing the pattern since 2015 we always see 2 phone launch in the same year. So, we can assume that Oneplus 5 will be follow by another siblings that always appear around November just like Oneplus X & 3T. Oneplus 5T perhaps which making it the 7th generation Oneplus.

I don't care what it's called as long as they add a large battery and also provide a MicroSD Card slot!

3000mah is not gonna be a good selling point for the mobile, people will wait for oneplus 5t just because it will have a bigger battery inside

We all know that this "5" is actually really the "4", so any "bad luck" associated with "4" is now inevitably a part of "5", if you believe in that nonsense!

I'll explain in more detail why the Chinese have decided to skip OnePlus 4. It is not only becouse it simply sounds bad or ominous by itself, but in Chinese "One plus" (yi jia) sounds exactly the same as "The whole family" (yi jia), so adding the number "4" (si) which sounds similar to the word "death" into the mix will sound "the whole family dies". One can understand that this phone would never sell in China under such name.
Fun fact: some Chinese bloggers have pointed out that numbers 2 and 3 also sounded pretty bad (OnePlus 2 sounded like "yi jia er" which in modern colloquial Chinese means "the whole family is dumb" and OnePlus 3 sounded similar to "the whole family is scattered") and that it didn't affect sales nor bothered the marketing department, so the company might've went with OnePlus 4 naming anyway.
