Nokia finally reveals its plans for the Symbian^3 future

The Nokia vice president Purnima Kochikar has just released an open letter to developers, revealing the company's plans about their Symbian^3 platform. Apparently the Finns are planning to continue...

Hope the platform of symbian will continue including series 60 handsets as well. I luv my E72...its a superb phone in its category. Better battery backup, more secure etc are some of the options which make this platform still desirable. Just few more free apps and it can still compete with android, iOS etc post provisioning ghz processors.

    UI improvement should bring a new life to Symbian^3 (while it lasts!). Although a major improvement would be to add a app or emulation layer to OS, that will run the android apps on Symbian^3 what RIM is doing with its Playbook.

      Finally some good news from Finns after clouds of darkness and uncertainties over the last few months.

      I am falling in Love with my N8 all over again by the above stated roadmap and hoping it turns out to be true

        this aint so good, but it will be always behinf. 1ghz. so what we have 1,2 and 1.4 hhz dualcore androids! nokia is behind in this stuff.!
