AMD announces RX500 series desktop graphics cards

Will replace existing RX400 series cards by offering greater performance for roughly the same price.

This is the beauty of Windows it gives us options depending on budget or power requirements ... So if you choose to go with power one can get the GTX 1080Ti or Titan XP if you decide on a decent budget PC this RX500 series would be the best...So please stop fighting and comparing !!!

Nvidia 1060 it is far superior card, we not talking about only raw power, we talking about Nvidias optimizations to video games, BE performance, and most importantly TDP. In all cases 1060 slaughters RX 580 and so on. And 1TB SSD it is nonsense. Price is very high and will die within 3 years of usage. SSD is not designed for constant media consumption and file moving, it is designed solely to keep OS. For file storing only fast HDD with at least 4TB size for 1/4 of the price of your 1TB SSD

But of course the experience will never be the same with Hi end cards. so lets see and wait for Vega

        I already have an rx 480 for 1440 and I don't see how even calling rx 470 an 1440p card should be wrong!

        And that's just an OCed rx 480 :c My card is already running at 2000mhz memory and 1310 core without any OC :c I managed to take it to 1380 2200 and gave up going further as I got bored and didn't need more performance for most of my games (wow bottle necked by GPU and I run it at 150 render scale with no FPS loss and overwatch already runs at 100+fps most of the time.)

          The fact is opposite.
          Old cards are on sale now, so RX500 offers roughly the same performance with higher price.

            I was expecting to see something that can work on par or faster than 1080 ti. Which could, potentially, force Nvidia to lower unworldly prices. But it seems AMD is feeling fine in the low-price market, letting Nvidia have all the high-end cards... weird.

              This is a calculated move by AMD to get their RX 480 (now named RX 580) to match/surpass Nvidia's GTX 1060.

              When the GTX 1060 launched it slayed AMD to no end. In 2016 there was no need to get anything Team Red... their CPU's sucked and the GPUs were outclassed. In fact, I told people to instead build:
              Intel Core i5-6500 (overclock it), 16GB RAM DDR4-2667, GTX 1060 (3GB), 512GB SSD + 4TB HDD.

              The only thing AMD had going for them was the higher 8GB memory, and the cheaper deals around. But after improving the quality control on the RX 480, more deals, and the Crimson Update (and seeing the GTX 1060 choke on new benchmarks)... people began to see the RX 480 as a good competitor to the GTX 1060. So the RX 580 should be more competitive.

              The RX 560 and RX 570 is a disappointment performance wise. However, the slight price cuts will mean they'll be good value for money (or RX 460 and RX 470 will be more value for money).

              I don't see why anyone should get a GTX 1060 (6GB) or even the RX 580 (8GB)... when the 4GB RX 470 OC (or RX 570) can provide similar performance for a lot cheaper. At that stage people should skip over to the GTX 1070, or wait for Vega (RX 590 ?). So if you ask me what people should build in 2017 it would be:
              AMD Ryzen r5-1600 (4.1GHz OC), 16GB RAM DDR4-3200, RX 570 (4GB), 1TB SSD + 4GB HDD.

                Guys, don't be biased. There is place and time for every comparison, and AMD is doing just fine. You might think that this is new name for old product, and that is true, but 580 is 8-10% faster than 480, which is enough to pull the AMD on top of every test against strongest versions of 1060. I wish AMD would come up with new Ryzen in GPUs, so we can enjoy the price and technology wars :)

                    mir, 19 Apr 2017They're just giving new names to their old products!Like NVIDIA (9xxM, 8xxM...). But those are so poor graphics card! If they want to use the same naming scheme NVIDIA uses, they should start to make Ryzens out of their GPUs!

                      I am not a hater or anything,but I think that Nvidia has always been ahead of AMD when it comes to graphics cards.AMD cards usually have higher temperatures and more Power Consumption.
