Pointless. That gold back will still cracked. If you gold plated the fingerprint sensor it wont work anymore. You will still want to make repair if something is broken and end up opening the rear. Will you really send a gold plated phone to a service center? Gold scratches easily too. If I'm the staff at the service center I wont even dare to touch that phone. Finally, a smartphone is a temporary things. You will always buy new phone every several years anyway. If you are super rich and wealthy, why not. Go ahead.

Um, IMO that diamond frame around the Samsung logo makes it looks bad. My ideal design would be having a transparent clear glass back panel, so you can see all the internals of the S8. Nothing screams "nerdy geek" more than that!
