Why its called tablet and whats the difference between ultrabook and tablets, why people like tablet, anh hope you understand that when they dont need keyboard part they detach it and turn it intp 750 grams tablet to carry around and do things on it instead of 1200 grams ultrabook.

Im guessing you're one of those people who still use flip-phone and says its better and more productive .

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2017So you took the niche of the niches to justify a 2in1? Yes,... moreIpad didnt even had pen until last year i believe, surface pro has pen from the initial model, and i wouldnt compare surface pro or galaxy book to ipad, because these are full x86 desktop capable machines and ipad is just a mobile os that run only apps virsions of software.

These are already a desktop class machine and with something like asus transformer pro you can even have external gpu to boost your productivity or gamming with bigger display and better gpu, so these is what a future of high class machines are going to be. Multi funtional system , its not just 2in1s its already turning into 3in1 system that will replace desktop for most people.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2017So you took the niche of the niches to justify a 2in1? Yes,... moreTust me , i do coding, graphics, sounds and database. pen support eleminates the needs to buy or use wancom tablet. If you're coder or work with lots of text,, you dont wana code hundreds or thousand of lines of code or do excel sheet on laptop, you'll be better with full size keyboard, if you do maybe say within 100 lines of code then even the on screen keyboard isn't bad at all.

People made computer to getrid of pen !!?? Are you serious??!! Guess you dont know the power of pen, almost all of the animation and graphics in games, animeted and cgi movies, pictures, etc are made using stylus, even software engineer and system engineers like to have a pen, know why?? coz every contexts or flow or dataflow diagrams gets started with pen with ink on paper or digital ink on screen. Infact most ideas and concepts are first created with pen. If you're saying that we dont need pen in computers then youre probably erasing the term call digital art from the world.

Surfing a web is much more easier and natural on touchscreen hand held devices than using keyboard and mouse , thats what most of us are use to now.

Anysways 2in1s still provides a keyboard and touchpad or even allows to use external if thats what you need with all these extra features. So i will say that having all these options availanle straight out of the box is better than being stuck with just a keyboard and mouse.

A 2in1 and a ultrabook is directly comparable. They're basically the same product, same use cases, except one is a less retarded version of the other.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017Not everyone uses keyboard all the time for their work, man... moreSo you took the niche of the niches to justify a 2in1? Yes, for graphic designer and people who edit stuff on photoshop a 2in1 is better. It's certainly not better for the vast majority of people. You know the students who need to search the web, or the office worker who has to edit excel sheets, how about the coder or the web designer who has to code a lot?

It's true that a 2in1 is better for some people, few people, very few people. The kind of push it got from Microsoft though was absurd. Very unergonomic for the vast majority of people (top heavy? seriously?), bad battery due to the smaller space to store it. And no optimization doesn't matter when all run the same hardware (intel processors) and the same software (Windows), battery amount is what matters ... *strictly*

I realize that a lot of you fell for marketing. That's sad because you bought a heavy machine (1100 grams for 12 inches is a lot , you get 13.3 inches at 1200 grams) with few ports (1 or 2, seriously?) with a feature that most hardly ever use (a pen, seriously? We invented computer to get *away* from pens).

It's a terrible idea that was designed to antagonize the Apple's ipad success all the while enhancing productivity. It failed in both, it's only a fracture of ipad's sales, it's far less productive than an ultrabook.

So why would i need keyboard all the time, and yes the s pen and touch will be much beter for such work. Plus the ability
to use it as tablet on your laps or on hand for work make it muh beter, dell xps cant do that as good as this 2in1 devices and its lighter, weighing just as much as ipad pro.

Big battery doesnt always mean better bettery life, it depends on optimisation as well. Take galaxy s8 for example,( check form YouTube on battery drain test).

Trust me and mark my work 2in1 are the future both as desktop and portable machine.

And yes ports, why would you need so many ports on a portable device?? It already has pen, touch keyboard, touhpad, speakers, camera, wifi, lte, sdcard slot, bluetooth. May be youre a kind of a person who likes to plug all of your lagacy devices all the time. In such case you can get a type c expansion dongle.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017Well you look like a fake claimer to me, latest dell xps 13... moreYou do know that both the weight and battery claims you just made are fake claims right?

Both 2in1s you referred to as more than 1kg owning it to the keyboard that you surely have to attach so that to work (unless you don't work on them so my "toy" remark was/is justified).

Wacom pen is useless unless you *need* it to our job btw, another gimmick.

Amoleds are terible for work computer because static images burn them in

The battery referred by the manufacturer is fake because the body of 2in1s can't house big batteries, which in turn always lead to lower battery life. Actually battery life of Surface Pro 4 was 7 hours (read the reviews) and I expect the Glaxybook to follow. Dell XPS has *actual* 13 hours, battle tested and productive. Pretty muck *kills* dinky 2in1 batteries.

One has one port, the other has two (again few ports = toy)

But above all , despite having the same size almost the same weight as dell xps their screens are one inch smaller, which (at those sizes) kills productivity. They are such bad products that even a $500 ultrabook (Mi book) is probably better than them.

The faster that keyboardless laptops and cloth keyboards die the faster we are going to enter an era of true productivity. 2in1s are a speedbump that will soon be forgotten. The guy who though to put a tablet into a windows machine was equally bright to the one who thought to put windows on phones, by which I mean "not at all. Both terrible ideas that took away some years from the markets...

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2017Wtf is wrong with you?! Portability is not an opinion. I... moreWell you look like a fake claimer to me, latest dell xps 13 has 7200u cpu, come with win 10 home amd weight almost as twice as surface pro 4 or galaxy book 12 at 1.22kg.

While new galaxy book 12 comes with same 7200 cpu , super amoled display, win 10 pro, 11 hours battery rating , support wacom pen , fast charging , support LTE, has two type c 3.0 port, even has 13 mp back and 5 mp front camera, and at only 754grams and just as thick as any mordern smartphone.

So there you go... Looks like galaxy book has more to offer and dont worry about power you can carry any 45watt powerbank to give extra juice to this device though fast charging enabled powerbank would be better.

Portability is not an opinion. It's a matter of weight, ergonomics and autonomy all of which 2in1 is severely lacking. Dell XPS 13 has 14 hours of battery (vs 7 of surface pro), about the same weight and size (100 grams more) and much better keyboard in a bottom heavy design (easier to hold in lap, easier to type in).

None of these are opinions. Don't be blinded by marketing. Non tech guys get it, Ultrabooks are better, please do get it as well, the less this failed experiment sells the faster it will die off.

Anything with a bad keyboard and only one port is a toy btw.

I honestly despair seeing the popularity of 2in1s in tech sites (thankfully the lay public is not too enthusiastic about them). I mean windows sucks as a tablet OS, why would anyone need or want a windows tablet, especially since 2in1 users use them as inferior Ultrabooks. There is literally zero upside, it's a fad, like windows phones before them.
