in league of single core smartphones, there's nothing which can beat this beauty.
awesome gamepad sets it apart from all other similar looking smartphones.
i have this beauty and i am loving this, it has its limitations but it is worth buying, very original in everything.

ryo9502, 02 Apr 2011quite impressive, but the aproximately 750 euro price is to... moreYeah, I also agree that 650 EUR for Xperia Play is too much to ask.
But I wouldn't hold my breath for the hacker community to hack all Xperia Play only games to be playable on all Android phones because sometimes there is source code compiled in C and it's CPU dependant (all CPUs are ARM based but none are fully compatible with each other). Xperia Play has a Snapdragon and its games should be playable on all HTC phones (which also uses Snapdragon), but I don't know about the gamepad compatibility and how should it be hacked with an onscreen gamepad controller.

quite impressive, but the aproximately 750 euro price is too much for me to spoil my childhood side...
now i have hd2, and i'd rather buy bluetooth gamepad that cost about 35$ and wait for all the hackers hacks those games to all android devices wich have a decent processors (at least 1ghz)...

Looks like these games are ordinary mobile games that can work on any phone with a good processor and not really playstation games. Why is fifa 10's publisher ea mobile and not ea sports. Is there really any difference, other than the gaming buttons between this and any other android phone?

Getting delayed already with software problems,O2 have not been happy with the software,an Android is not very good on Batterylife so how long will we be able to play games on this phone before the battery is dead,an to overpriced already,so people better wait an see an read reviews before investing in this mobile or might to costly to buy an run

i was expecting that it can at least run final fantasy vii/viii/ix or gran turismo or some old wwf/wwe games! this disappointed me. i think if i were to buy, i will buy arc instead of play.

It apparently can _also_ mean Playstation-ported games... a few of the upcoming SCE games were titles of PS1 exclusives, until now (and some of those - great ones; here's hoping that MediEvil will get a continuation further down the line)

I guess a re-release (with some changes for Play phone, of course - apart from obvious HW optimizations, it's too bad the Play has only one pair of shoulder buttons, it will definatelly cripple some titles) is easier to set up when the games came from Sony studios...

So what if they removed it from the market. You can find it in a million other places. There is no way sony can stop us from using the psx eumulator
