Not a chance. OS and apps will get more sophisticated every year as it has been since the first iPhone. They will require more power to run smoothly. I have a 3 year old iPhone 6+ and indeed it still works, but you will quickly realize how sluggish it is compare to the 7+. The exact same apps open much more quickly and games require much shorter loading times.
Just because it's "only" 1 year old, doesn't mean it isn't old. Old is old. Used is used. It's just not the same as brand new and untouched by anyone. As soon as you take a device out of the box, it is depreciated. Time also depreciate most electronics. And it is a fact Androids depreciates much more then Apple products. However, IMHO, I don't believe the reason is because of Android itself, but because there are just so many Android devices out there.

And it may have less probability of it since that issue was corrected. Being 1 year older doesn't mean much since it's a top competitor, will still be a powerfull machine 3 or 4 years from now.

Why would anyone pay $600 for this? This is already a year old, still may explode, and it's an Android phone! By the last one I mean that Android phones depreciate much faster then iPhones. A 1 year old Android phone (that doesn't explode) can depreciate more then 50% after its first year. It would take a very deep discount for people to risk having this phone on their night stand while they sleep.
