AnonD-647900, 03 May 2017Bet it's gonna have a crappy MediaTek processor, and since ... moreI agree. 5,4" is still big no matter how effective you can put the screen. 5" is the limit after that you might as well don't make the phone. Because it is not going to be the phone "mini" users looking for.

Indeed I am in for this phone so long as they maintain the same battery capacity or even add more capacity to it. As for the snapdragon 835 I believe LG will only start theirs in V30 which is their second flagship phone. And may be start Android 8.0 version if this version really comes up. You know V20 was the first phone to use 7.0 Nougat. But now Google is doing some movement in the Android versions that makes me think they will be the first to do 8.0 Android version.

Wow, I am in for this phone. 5'4 inches of display in the form of same design as the G6 will be considerably small in hand, using such phone will be amazing. This should have come together with the G6 with the same specs. Only difference should be the size. We are waiting, else I will wait for the V30 that has amazing audio no other phone has in the market of phones.

The G6 is too big, I know because I have one.. the moto g beats it in one hand usability.
If your going to make it smaller then do it right. People who want small dont want 5.4".

I still use G2 Mini. So I will be the first to buy G6 Mini or G6 Compact. Some people uses phones with one hand and prefer small phones. But.. with logical hardware. All companies learned this even Samsung and Apple. Look at 2017 A series. Look at iPhones. They even made the same powerful phone with only 4". I will but Samsung A3 2017 if LG disappoints me this year again. I don't care about "placing greater screen in last years body". It was tall for me back than so it is still tall for me now. After G2 mini there hasn't been any good mini phone of LG. An then they cry about mobile division "lagging".. If you alienate other users than big screen, flagship users then of course it lags. Competition in that area is so fierce. All the companies now also turned their eye on other users. Oh, but not LG. No sir. Still making good, big flagship and rest is literally .hit

i think they should do it, but the thing is that the Lg g6 is not that big!
if it was like 6 inch or more then it would have made more sense!
but anyway, its not a BAD IDEA!

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2017As long it uses Snapdragon, not Mediatek, I'm sold. I agree, MT SOC's are hard on battery life, something LG is not noted for with any SOC they use.

I won't hold my breath as LG's past "mini" offerings were inconsistently-named smartphones that masqueraded under the flagship G-series name while offering mediocre specs. What people really want is something akin to Sony Z-Compact series (flagship specs in a small body).

Give me a phone the size of the original Moto X with modern hardware specs and a camera that takes quick, clear photos with a stock stable version of Android and you will be my best friend forever. I'm rocking a OnePlus X right now and like it for the most part. It does have a crappy Bluetooth radio that sometimes gets staticey when paired with my car. The latest major update also nearly bricked my device and required multiple factory resets to get data connectivity back to the phone. It also delayed receiving texts and phone calls for a day out of nowhere - wasn't the provider as other friends and family members on my plan and/or with the same service provider didn't have the problem. The camera on the OnePlus X kinda sucks too - the camcorder is also pretty much useless. Other than that it's a decent phone. Durable, fast, dual SIM card slots with micro SD for storing photos when I'm overseas. Battery life could be way better but eh, it's worth it to me to have a more compact phone. So many phones are enormous these days. Just get a damn tablet.

If LG can do a smaller version of the G6 i think it wil be a HIT. Iv read lots of reviews all over for people wanting "one hand" use phones. "The G6 compact" for people that dont have hands like shovels and pockets like bin bags.

I wouldnt mind watered down specs with a lower price tag. The LG G2 mini was really good value for money, and I hope for the same.

A 5.4" screen is not "mini"! If the rumors are true, it'll be just a smaller version of the G6, just like the Samsung S8/S8+ combo.

If LG really wants to make a new device, simply put the sd835 in G6 and 6GB ram (not that 6gb ram is necessary, but it will be a good point against S8) . It's not that difficult. We've seen xiaomi Mi4i turning into Mi4c. Just adding 2g of bulk. But this time, new processor is more efficient than older one. They can also improve on one of the two main camera sensors to IMX378.

Make a G6 Mini with the same look of the G6 with smaller body (5.0" would be perfect), SD835, 6GB RAM, and UFS 2.1, then sell this for $600 and make us all laugh
