Every waterproof phone are tested in the lab to get the IP certificate, the OEM already giving the facts, because a lot of waterproof-phone's user is very creative, just like me I wash my Z2 with mild soap to clean it up. I know the acid is not free, I will wash with tap water completely.., but I will try to avoid to use the mild soap to wash phone to prolong the waterproof lifespan.

Because there is no phone yet is water proof. Even before Sony advertise their so-called water proof phones, there is already a bunch of splash proof phones that are more water resistance than that of those Sony phones that are not advertised. This time, we just only have water resistant phones but there is literally no water proof at least this time around.

I did search on Wikipedia. It never said anything about Xperia Z being the first smartphone to be waterproof, but every single tech sites will all say that Xperia Z of Sony is the first waterproof smartphone.
You simply can't contradict what's already proven to be a fact more than quintillion times

That Casio was first feature waterproof phone, but was not smart.
Then again, Casio is a watch company... so it was their one time wonder I guess.
