Which are the Android 2.3 options with a QWERTY Keyboard?
In abscense of the Nokia N9 project, I'm looking for the Galaxy S II, but with a QWERTY Keyboard. I think it should be the best option, even considering the latest Torch, htc, etc though I get confused with the options.

I have always wondered whats going on in Nokia.. why they take so long to put out a 1ghz flagship phone? Since start of 2011, almost every phone is 1 ghz atleast. Some even sport 1.2 ghz. And even some sport BOTH 1 ghz and dual-core...
... Nokia is going the way of the Dinosaur-- EXTINCTION

Bricked, 08 Apr 2011Thats a really long list.
It would start from High resolut... more.. well, you have a right to cherish your N8. It will be the last Symbian flagship of Nokia. N8 has got tons of problems, why you think they are short-selling it from more than $600 3 months ago, to only $500 now??
Aside from the Tessar Lens, and 12mp camera with zenon, there is nothing much else the N8 has:
1) the cpu is uber-slow at 680mhz (is this really a flagship?),
2) there is no gesture control for activating calls or sms,
3) there are only 3 homescreens,
4) no live wall paper support,
5) no animations,
6) Few and poor apps in the Ovi Store,
7) Poor unreliable web browser, and web services in general
Ideally, flagships should be problem-free considering that it is top-of-the-line, and the most expensive model in a portfolio. This is not the case with N8, unfortunately.
The N8 would have been a hit, if only they slapped ANDROID 2.2 inside it. Too bad Elop is onboard Nokia.
Symbian will be phased out in the next 3 years, to be gradually replaced by WP7.

verdes, 08 Apr 2011hardware: superamoled+, 4.3", 480x800 resolution, Gyr... moreOS wise the Android is better if you compare it with the Symbian. Symbian is around over a longer period of time and you can see it is saturated. Also Due to the paradigm shift of Nokia from it to Windows shows the OS has a shady future. And if you check with Android, Its growing day by day and stagnation would not be reached atleast for next 5-6 years.

One thing is missing, give us an estimate of the battery life on this phone.
Everyone seems to go on and on about power spec, what about the battery yo!
I wish it was like intel where it only uses full power when it needs like gaming and other times it will use 50% to save battery. You hear that chip manufacturers =)

Honestly I think someone @ Samsung needs a swift kick in the you know where for this... The company also said that the device will be "gradually rolled out in each market according to the local launch timetable". Umm would one of the great Samsung P.R. guy care to let us know what the Local Launch Timetables are???? While most people will be rooting/modifying/downloading with the new SGSII when they get it... I on the other hand will take mine and slap any Samsung Employee I see with it (hopefully the President) for putting me through all this waiting agony. On a more positive note I was in Future Shop(Canadian Best Buy basically) and the Atrix was 99.00 down from 169.00 on a 3 year renewal/term a week ago.. I am hoping the same will Happen for the SGSII

I wasn't impressed with HTC screens though. Sunlight eligibility have been problem for their phone for a while now even when they had AMOLED. I guess they figured they're short supplied for AMOLED from Samsung so they switched to LCD. Maybe LCD will serve them better with higher resolution and all that but that's also preference as well. Usually HTC and Samsung have similar specs (top of the line) but I personally find Samsung screens are better so far and I like their new TouchWiz4.

It would start from High resolut... moreIf you own an N8 and iPhone 4, why do you need to be convinced? This isn't a discussion about religion where people try to convert each other. I think SGSII spec will let do just about anything N8 can do but do it much faster and smoother. That's what I look for in a handset and seeing some hands-on videos preview that SGSII will indeed carry out everyday tasks fast and smooth. After trying the Apple's App Store and Android market, I can also tell you that I can't have good experience on the OVI Store.
When you compare phones, it's not about "Can your phone do this? because mine can" anymore. It's now about "Can your phone do this better than my phone?". SGSII will do just about anything better than N8 because it's more powerful.
Ask yourself the real question, "Can N8 do things better than SGSII?"

Bricked, 08 Apr 2011Thats a really long list.
It would start from High resolut... morefirstly i didnt mention ANYTHING twice. the first one was full hd recording and second was playback which obviously is different from recording.
your n8 supports flash 10.2 ? thats a joke because n8 DOESNT. they have flashlite or something like that which is not real flash. real flash with its latest version is present only on android. bluetooth on n8 is slower, yes just about eight times.
yes bigger isnt doest necessarily mean better but quality wise and resolution wise galaxy s2 is much much better.
biggest advantage of galaxy s2 is its enormous potential because of its 1gb ram and dual core processor.
there are dual core optimised games in tegra zone, you can check that out.
then you have nfc support, android specific advantages like 250000 apps, much better ui and usability and other advantages.
as i said before it indeed is a long list.

Thats a really long list.
It would start from High resolution, bigger better quality screen, 1080p videos, Flash 10.2, Full HD playback, play best quality gams and apps optimized for dual core, NFC, bluetooth 3.0 HS (8 times faster than BT3.0 without HS), Wifi Direct................. etc.
Thats not a long list. Putting etc and repeating the same functions doesn't impress in the slightest. Firstly, bigger isn't necessarily better in a smartphone that is large for the pocket. I'll give you 1080p (compressed as it is, and mentioned twice) but Flash 10.2 is available for N8, it has bluetooth (so the N8 CAN do the same, just slower) There are no apps or games optimised for dual core on sale yet, so that doesnt work.
There's not much to convince me to upgrade from an N8 and iphone 4 to be honest.
