Eske Rahn, 11 May 2017A bit teasing you could say that using Linux over Windows i... moreLinux has BY FAR the most driver support in the mainline kernel of any operating system, and any common distribution will have better out of the box support than Windows.

Try installing a distribution made in the past decade. There is no driver problem.

And I'm not even a Linux user. Except for all the servers at work, where we can't trust Windows on bare metal, so we have to run them in Linux-hosted VMs with twice-daily snapshots in case Windows messes itself.

Which is about every enterprise-grade server environment I've seen in a decade.

Thank god Microsoft was late to pretty much everything else but the OS and in particular Windows Mobile. It would have been unbearable with Windows everywhere.

Love or hate various Windows variants, it is still MUCH easier to on a specific pc to get EVERY hardware function to work on Windows. You CAN almost always do the same on Linux, but it can be quite a Hell to find the exact match of drivers to get everything to work. Last time I tried it was a real puzzle, at it was far from all drivers that should be in their latest version, and not all versions of different drivers could co-exist. So I could not get everything to work at the same time...
And this kind of puzzle is not for the non-tech-savy users.

This is NOT to blame Linux as such, but a problem with the drivers matching different parts of the hardware.

If you are on a not too uncommon Laptop or other 'fixed' configuration, there are a good chance that someone before you have performed the puzzle for your model though. But upgrading anything afterwards should be done with a lot of caution...

I love Windows 10, I stuck with 7 for as long as I could but thanks to some software issues I had to update, it's a joy to use and I'm always looking out for new features from their Insider Preview program.

How funny Windows announce that with forcing updates into the machine leaving no choice for us to not download update and consume more storage.

I admit it is easy and user friendly although majority of people don't know how to use other OS a part from Mac which is Linux such as Ubuntu and others.

I personally use Ubuntu and feel happy for the amount of customization I can make on it unlike Windows and believe it Ubuntu can play it right it will kick windows out side the game.

Remember that Mac is Closed source of Linux like Windows and Mac has the same Setting and UI of Ubuntu.

                      I like windows 10.
My biggest beef is that it keeps changing default apps.

And how many of the 28% 'active' Cortana installations are where the users simply have not found out how to turn it off yet??
