MG7, 11 May 2017At 440$ it will not stand a chance against 1+5 or mi6 consi... moreLol it has the samsung name on it. Many would buy it over the mi6 or op5 just because of that.

Note7 for $440 is good price. Wasnt Note5 still in $500 price range? Considering Note 4 is already as low as $300 today this Note7 price is quite reasonable. Even comparing with previous flagship from S series it is still a reasonable price. Though some saying you could get a brand new S7 with that price. Depends on whose country you talking about. I could even say RIP Note8. How are Samsung going to sell Note8 with launching price above $800-900 while the Note7 is as cheap as $440. Hey, wait for christmas you might able to buy Note 7R for $200. Lol.

AnonD-558092, 11 May 2017The S5 is indeed less powerful and has a worst camera. The ... moreIt's mostly the 2GB that did it for. It's too little for modern android, especially for Samsung android. Ever since it got the upgrade to Lollipop it has been dog slow. Very short-sighted of Samsung.

The first relatively bad Samsung flagship (S6 of course was worse as in regards of longevity).

AnonymouseX, 11 May 2017Maybe somewhat delusional. I tried finding a Galaxy Note 4... moreI think you should go with Note 4, but that's mostly due to the camera and the (faaar) better SoC (if you buy Exynos).

The screen while better should not be a consideration as 1080p pentile is as sharp as 1000p RGB which is plenty sharp. More than enough for most needs. So Note 3 is fine in that regard.

BTW Note 4 is still the best Samsung ever. The largest Removable battery ever. IR, PEN as good as of modern Note's. Same QHD as modern phones, 64bit octacore (if you buy Exynos) ... it's only lacking (slightly) in having 3GB instead of 4GB of RAM. In everything else is *actually* better, especially if you install pure android

Bring it to Europe. Never sold here, as did the Note 4, Note 5.

It better be.. It is going to loose one of its biggest selling points.. The self defence grenade ..

Good job Samsung. I mentioned several times, for it to be priced decently as refurbished, it has to be just a bit more expensive than a new S7 Edge. Checking Amazon, a new S7 Edge is $430. Nice. If it materializes, I will have to with the Note 7 with a small battery versus the ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom with a large battery and efficient SoC

AnonymouseX, 11 May 2017I like Samsung flagships, but their mid rangers are somewha... moreThe S5 is indeed less powerful and has a worst camera. The Snapdragon 801 is nowhere near the Exynos 5433. The display is also worst with a lower resolution. If you're not in a rush for a new phone, then waiting for the N4 is definitely a good choice. Just remember to grab a new battery for it, since after 3 years batteries tend to have smaller capacities.

But you might as well save for the S7 but remember it lacks many of the N4's attraits like the Pen, removable battery, IR and Air Commands and also so much more.

I know the midrangers are priced awkwardly. When I talked about the old A5 I own that is priced over the N4, or the new A5 that is priced closely to the S7 duo, this is pretty much the best illustration of the point.

Then it's certainly a much better deal than the S8

MG7, 11 May 2017At 440$ it will not stand a chance against 1+5 or mi6 consi... moreIt will hit that price point eventually but they can't obviously start with that. Also, Samsung has nothing to lose with this handset as this may not be mass manufactured beyond the existing Note7 rejected stocks (and those batches about to be manufactured). They have already written-off the cost from their books. They do not have to risk by damaging their brand value through cheaper offerings.
