Fearghast, 15 May 2017Ow god not those integrated DAC's, who care about SNR, THD ... moreWhat the problem with Mediatek then? They can use X30 and a separate DAC!

But it's mostly useless as most of Amplifiers and most headphones with 3.5mm jack would be the weak Link of the chain.

I think you will not see any Exynos on Meizu's this year : Qualcomm find an arrangement with Meizu...
Samsung help FTC against Qualcomm arguing they can't sell Exynos due to Qualcomm's abuse of dominant position...I think both are linked

Wait and see...hope to see real competition next years

Anonymous, 15 May 2017Audiophile you said? Integrate DAC on X30 is 120dB SNR 100... moreOw god not those integrated DAC's, who care about SNR, THD if it sounds like crap.
Audiophile should look at the whole audio chain, DAC isn't everything, amplifier isn't everyting.

BTW: What do we have here?

Fearghast, 14 May 2017"You should be happy to see X30... Competition is needed.... moreAudiophile you said?
Integrate DAC on X30 is 120dB SNR 100dB THD...and cortex low power A35 will provide long listening...
X30 isn't the problem for Audiophile.

If you're Audiophile you should better have a look :
        - on amplifiers behind the DAC
        - on MicroSD cards to get enough storage for lossless

Competition is important for customers...without competition you will buy bad and expensive soc...

Base your jugement only on the name Mediatek is a mistake...there are several Mediatek soc that were better than Qualcomm direct competitors (and get worst sales due to cdma/lte patent trolling and Mediatek image)
For exemple S410/615 were crap compare to mt6732/6752

AnonD-82756, 13 May 2017You speak crap Why do you think so? I can hope for X. you know. I am not a mediatek Basher. I have owned mediatek phones. and they are gorgeous preformers. I can hope for a little change from time to time. can't I?

I don't care, i know what i want out of my next audiophile mobile phone. Mediatek is certainly not one of the features i look for when i see Meizu Pro line.
For me it feels like Apple would drop Apple chips in favor of Mediateks.

Fearghast, 13 May 2017Mediatek? Realy? So who the hell cares. I know they can't... moreYou should be happy to see X30...
Mediatek doesn't release real high end each year...
Despite 20nm and eMMC storage, in daily use X20 is nearly as fast as S820. CPU behavior is great (rumors about CPU heating were mostly false...no test reveal it, nothing to do with 810!...or even 808...or even 652!).
                X20 wasn't high end!

                X30 use 10nm, UFS2.1 like S835...
According to frequencies PowerVR 7 Plus mt4 will provide opengl performances between Apple A9 and A10...
Apple A9 is better than Adreno on S821.

                Competition is needed...
Customers must be aware of that

I know they can't use Exynos due to some patent issue betwen Samsung and Qualcomm, but they could use at least S821.
Meizus Pro line is known for excelent audio and battery life + they use amoleds.

AnonD-647900, 13 May 2017They should only use Exynos since they can't seem to use SD... moreMediatek is an excellent choice at some events. but here. I agree. the pro 7 SHOULD use the exynos 8895m (20cores GPU, 2.5 GHz mongoose M2) for the 5.2inch version! and slapping in a decent 3k mAh battery

They should only use Exynos since they can't seem to use SD for some odd reason.

Anonymous, 12 May 2017Bullsh*t. You don't know anything.I do know that Meizu is forbidden from using snapdragon. I just wish they could. I love mediatek but wish they had better battery life. that's all I ask.

DrearyDepp, 12 May 2017I read in one of the GSMArena reviews (probably Meizu Pro 6... morethe whole point is to do it with the rather compact 5.2 inches. ^^; I wish they did the 5.2 version ALSO In exynos. and not mediatek. I've used the standard sized pro 6. and CPU wise. IT'S A TRUE BEAST! but when it comes to GPU department. 4 Mali-T880 cores at 850 MHz is just not enough. that's why in my past I've asked for an octacore Mali-T880 (that DOES NOT EXIST!)

ChrissChiang, 13 May 2017Dare to talk crap about Mediatek chip here.Listen. I do love Mediatek. I just wish they got better battery life.
