AnonD-672013, 25 May 2017A noise cancellation headphone that compatible with a 3.5mm... moreSony has noise cancelling headphones since 2 years ago, and no dac was needed. You could play hi res audio with Z5 with any type of headphones actually. it's just that the particular hi res headphones were noise cancelling ones and could output hi res audio without comprises.
Good for you you enjoy em, but don't say that taking away features like headphone jack is the way to go, because it's not.
It's a stupid move that brings only questions. HTC is at the corner right now and they play the apple card? Too wrong too soon.

So my point stands, HTC did a stupid move with this.

They also provided an adapter that comes with a solid DAC. The active noise cancelling feature was enough to prove to me that there's validity for ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack.

I first saw the HTC u11 on their website. It comes with headphones that look like they plug in to the charging port. Not sure if I like that idea but I'll have to wait and see one in person first. I have been happy with my HTC M9 and was happy with my M7 also. I will be able to upgrade in October. Maybe by then Verizon will have them and there will be customer reviews available.

DAMASTA, 16 May 2017For most of the part you're right, except 1 - waterproof. :... moreUm, no. I think you are wrong because the Galaxy S5, S7, S8, LG G6, Sony Xperia Z5, XZ all are waterproof and yet also have a 3.5mm headphone jack. In fact the newer flagships feature IP68 protection and the G6 can also be dipped into seawater.

So removing the 3.5mm headphone jack is not an excuse for waterproofing, and BTW the HTC U11 still has a lesser IP67 protection.

Those bezels and no headphone jack.. The single redeeming feature that I wish everyone followed on is a single, large camera sensor. Too bad it was let down by the phone's design so badly.

The features sound nice (except of the lack of headphone jack), but that glass back is going to shatter when people drop and even sometimes without dropping it, just like on every phone that has made this mistake. Go look at forum comments on the iPhone 4, Nexus 4, recent Galaxy phones. They all have this problem.

Also, are the four microphones use to improve in-call noise cancellation? That's a feature that is almost always overlooked and has actually gotten worse over the years, even on the iPhones. Only the original Nexus One and the iPhone 4 had good in-call noise cancellation, because they used the Audience chip that no one uses anymore (I guess to save money on licensing fees).
