Nagol, 12 Apr 2011I love how the android fans sleep on the symbian 3 as if it... moreit is the human nature ,man cannot believe untill he used that or shaw that...u have to agree that android is going strong day by day...u r telling by core player u can play hd movie..let me tell u my phone has 240¤400resolution but I can play 1024¤768 resolution video and on android market there r lots of player that can play video of whatrever format..

Nagol, 12 Apr 2011I love how the android fans sleep on the symbian 3 as if it... moreIt's not the full Flash found on Android devices. What S^3 got is Flash Lite 4 which is inferior to Flash 10.x found on Froyo. 680 MHz simply don't have enough processing power.

nHD for a 4 inch device !!?? i used to think that WVGA resolution in galaxy s was bit less but this has crossed the line. too less pixel density.

stop releasing phones without autofocus nokia. symbian is not your problem, underspec'd phones are your problem.

I hate how the Symbian-haters on all blogs mindlessly hate symbian and as a direct consequence despise Nokia. People do not seem to realise that Nokia offers world class hardware. Nokia was the first OEM to feature a pentaband 3G chipset on phones. This was later imitated by the so-called"worldphones". Many phones even today do not come with the pentaband chipset. Talk about worldwide roaming! N8 was the first commercial phone to feature USB on the go. Till date, We are yet to see other phones with that incredible feature. I will not even begin talking about the cameras- they are a class apart.HDMI mirroring, 3.5mm jack A/V output, there are so many unique features. People don't realise that the OS hops along on a 680MHz processor and 256MB ram-n when contemporary android handsets sport 1GHz or more with a gig of ram. The performance of appications (browser, games, flash) are all very much in the same league as android. Multitasking is par excellent. Not once have I seena force closing of any application on my N8. This is a testament to the fact that Symbian is a heavily optimisedOS and very light on resources.Hardware-wise, Nokia is the one to beat. They offer the best hardware in a stunning and sleek design. Coming to software-Symbian- What can it not do that, say Android can?I would love to hear. Apps, you say? 40000 apps on the ovi store and another bajillion on the internet (unsigned) thatshould count for something. Free turn by turn navigation for life and **offline** maps, Incredible video and photo apps, the incredible ideas at Nokia beta labs-..... I can go on,but I wont. For me, Symbian is at par or even (at times) better than many of the contemporary OSes out there, and while it is true that the OS lacks the fit and finish that comes with the other OSes, but it is getting there. Nokia made a major change with ditching symbian and jumpingship, but it is good to see that they are committed to making symbian more usable before it stops support for symbian. CHeers to Nokia! I'm currently using a Symbian device and have never used Android before, except when messing with my friend's Samsung Galaxy S. I must admit Android and Symbian's user friendliness are far apart. What's more? I can hardly find decent Symbian apps, including Dropbox for Symbian. I see iOS and Android everywhere and occasionally BlackBerry, but never Symbian... I'll be changing my phone to an Android device in the very near future. Although Symbian does calling, messaging and perhaps a bit of internet surfing well (if you use Opera Mobile), it's lacking in too many areas. Those who only call and text can get those cheap 7-eleven phones for

I like Android as a choice for my upcoming phone.But depending on which smartphone OS with more real "Linux-ish" tendencies, I might just add WebOS to the list.We'll see how it goes when Pre 3 gets out.
You've made some salient points there.However...Putting raw mega-gigahertz closk speeds aside, the real issue here are probably "code efficiency + correctness" AND THE FACT THAT 680Mhz is NOT AN EXCUSE for Nokia to stubbornly stay on the aging ARM 11 spec.I mean why and what for?It's just a piss poor excuse to keep costs down.Any newer SoCs can be underclocked optimally to necessitate batt power management vs. choice OS' capabilities?And not to mention advancements have been achieved to further improve batt life?
As much as I criticize Apple's "walled garden" iPhone 4's iOS, I have to concede that they've absolutely nailed user interface fluidity without falling back to or requiring a 1Ghz CPU on its SoC.There's some hard lessons there.That means iOS for what it can or cannot do ARE CODED WELL.Regardless if critics such as myself can holler the lack of true multitasking, Flash and of course that ridiculous fact that I literally have to jailbreak the OS for something as trivial as UI modifications, the numbers are there.Instead of 800Mhz, they could have easily left the Apple A4 at 1Ghz and called it a day.But perhaps they've foreseen the additional 200Mhz to be too much of a batt drain risk to a typical iPhone 4 usage scenario hence why.
Having said all of that I agree that S^3's only probs are still UI deficiency and probably apps+memory management.More code.Not hardware.

Nokia have got realise the fixed-focus cameras are not good enough if they are trying to attract buyers to there new mobiles,o.k they admit they only use fixed -focus cameras so they can make there mobiles more Slimmer,but with the price you are expected to pay,Auto-Focus better be used soon or more people will leave Nokia an start to buy an alternative,an the Shares an Sales will decline more if they do not stop using Fixed-Focus,please grow up Nokia

I am SO dissapointed at Nokia .I was always hoping for the best, but...
Firstly, wheres the dual core processors and true zoom camera we were were promised!!!??? Yes, Symbian fan boys dont start with your battery life problems and "it don't need it" ! It does!
nHD display? WTF ! Thats two years behind the rest...It was fine on the 3.2inch of my OLD Nokia 5800, but now this is just bad...(you to E7)
Fixed Focus? OMG this is such a joke! They said it costs just as much as AF, but its a smaller module so slimmer phones, and quicker pics, but image quality on my C7 sucks! You have to take out atleast 5 photos to get a decent one...of course it has its moments and takes out gorgeuos shots, but thats like 1 in every 20 ! And slimmer phones? The X7 is under 12mm,and the E6 is 10.5mm but the E72 was 10mm and the Galaxy S2 is about 8.5mm, and it HAS AF !
And how can people call this a multimedia phone when it doesnt have an HDMI port, or the 4 speakers we were expecting? And Symbian Anna, you just an old women who got plastic OS surgery...You still that epic fail who cant please all those Android/Windows lovers, because you slow, look ugly, and the list will go on and on....
Urg, me, ex Nokia fanboy, still has hopes for Windows phone 7...but only when it gets rid of those nasty limitations...as for now, im going to make the move to Android...Samsung Galaxy S2, and i cant wait!

I could as well argue that a 1 ghz dual core cpus can't display 5mp images as your droids don't seem capable of zooming beyond 50 percent.
Besides why would any one want to watch a 1080p file on a mobile phone?. No mobile had the screen res to display a720p file talk less 1080. Most pcs don't. its a glorious waste of space.

I used to be a fan of Nokia's mobiles. Regardless the build quality and the looks that are impecable, Nokia suffers because it doesn't protect its customers. I stopped bying Nokia phones because they were causing me huge headaches. Look at their official pages for sar levels. They were the ones who implemented the EU permited levels with their sientists and it seems that the did that because they dont care about reducing the absorved by your body radiation. Most of their phones are over 1.0 W/kg (with the exceptance of their high end models). Do not argue about OS. This is the most impotrant factor SAR.

again with the fixed focus... and what's up with the 2.46" display ? a simple blackberry curve 8520 has the same exact size of display! what a crap :/
It is hard for them to put at least 2.6" ? they've wasted too much space at the bottom of the E6....
and the fixed focus? I'm gonna start to think that Nokia has become very inefficient to build a good device....

nHD in a n8 already pixelate enough.. in a 4"? lol
