Please do not put shame on yourselves if the mac hardware can accomodate these GPU's then you have the right to do so.. I like the OS but not your overpriced hardware which is 3 generations obsolete when it comes out the market ..and worst you are comparing this GPu with a pathetic phone which cannot even measure up with the Samsung S8 do not be stupid ok. We have legitimate arguments here like NVDIA VS AMD but a Mac or an apple product adding to the picture is just plain stupid so again Mac users stop putting comments on threads such as this..

you are comparing a $1000 CPU to $499 CPU. 1800X has way better Price/performance than 6900K.

s4f786, 19 May 2017Reading through the comments, I really don't get why people... moreCorrect.

"Unlike AMD's previous GPU launches, Vega FE isn't targeted at consumers, but rather at the booming artificial intelligence, machine learning, and creative markets where GPUs are currently in extremely high demand. Nvidia has employed a similar strategy with the launch of its Pascal and Volta architectures, which debuted in the P100 and V100 server graphics cards."

AnonD-670346, 18 May 2017But overpricedJeez, how do you know it's overpriced? Do you understand what overpriced actually means?
The price is not even announced and no benchmarking results yet, also it's not for average consumer.

Reading through the comments, I really don't get why people are making this out to be some sort of gaming gpu cos it clearly isn't. It's not really targeted at the consumer market.

Nikk, 18 May 2017Ryzen knocked down intel hahah the only thing it knocked do... moreYour grammar sucks.

Yep, the i7-6900K beats the Ryzen 7 1800X in almost all real life benchmark. Go over clock by a few hundred megahertz to cover the difference then... And you managed to mangle off $600 from Intel. The i7-6900K only shaves off a few minutes off 2 hours anyways.

And this Vega card only has one competitor - the NVIDIA Tesla P100. If it beats that, then the virtualization market is all AMD.

Nikk, 18 May 2017Ryzen knocked down intel hahah the only thing it knocked do... moreWhile Intel's processors are more powerful than the Ryzen lineup, they offer much better value. The 1800X is not even that much slower than the 6900K and is half of the price. I have big hopes for Vega and I think that it will be slightly slower than the higher end Nvidia cards like the 1070, 1080 and 1080 Ti, but AMD will offer a better value.

It may no be the best in performance but in quality to price ration it does beat Intel. That's why youll be seeing more ryzen builds than intel from now on.

For those who say these 2 graphic cards are for "professional" use, they can still game but they probably have something extra for what they are intended for.
Anyway they said that soon they will also announce the normal for general use gaming variants of the Vega GPUs.

Jeez that box design looks like its from 2009 or something. Even nvidia can design better!

Volta is yet to be announced and released so yeah, Vega is still not yet crowned. Pascal was last year, Vega is this year so logically it should be compared to this year's Volta.
