i like the u600 but samsung got a really annoying feature to automatically lock the (hang up) key everytime i made a call which i need to press the circle i button first until it unlocks
add this with the touch sensitive feature on "call" button that means i can easily made a lot of accidental calls which i can't immidiately cancelled because the hang up is locked and for some reason it won't let me unlock until the call is made, this probably the most annoying and feature that is so stupid to be found in u600 and i hate it much

Do you make cellphones for visually impaired people? I read in the newspaper that some cellphone manufacturers were looking at the Older market. People over 50 who do not want to use cellphones as we did not grow up with the technology and find them difficult. But also to even SEE the buttons!
Black/Silver - which is in vogue for cellphones- is also very difficult for older people. We cannot see black. It is hard to find. Our eyesight changes as we get older (yes - yours will too) and darkness or black blurrs our vision.

Second to you. no quadband is no good phone. And not just for you guys, americans. We, asians are crazy about that too. Last year i go to boston to visit my brother that studied there, and the first thing i have to do before traveling to boston was bought another phone. Hate that!! I love Samsung phone but if they are keeping produce high-end UMTS/HSDPA phone but with triband GSM frequency, i'll prepare to move to the bricky but quadband of Nokia.

I do agree with you.
All new GSM phones MUST have quad-band. Does it take much to add another frequency??? Even the new 3g or 3.5g HSDPA phones are Triband. That's truly unacceptable.

why does samsung do this to us americans?! they tease us with a great toy like the F700 then they make it triband.
don't they care about us in america?! triband sucks.
i know because i use to have a triband phone (motorola razr v3x). you get great reception outdoors but indoors you get nothing.
all companies need to start releasing quad band phones only!

It is a clamshell. the lcd top angles about 45 degrees for ergonomical purposes.

I don't know why the author of this article keeps on saying "clamshell" when in fact the phone is obviously a "slider" based on the photos.

That`s not true UMTS and HSDPA mean the phone is 3G HSDPA means more than 3 MegaBits per Second there is just 3-4 models of nokia with that function

I think Samsung U700 is a slider-phone, not a clamshell one.
