:o return of the legendary compact series, finally? I sure hope so, as that was Sonys best. Hope for smaller bezels, however.
Also, whats up with Sonys confusing naming scheme? Even me, a follower of phone news is left trying to grasp any logic in it.

Sony hasn't released anything even r... moreHow compact would you find compact?
Unless you've got the hands of a 12 year old girl 4.6" is comfortable with one hand. There are 4" Android phones for 3rd world countries if you desire small size above all else.

If the xz compact not a rumour, of course a great news to all the compact phone lover. But the price is not going to be cheap. In looking forward to x1 instead, hopefully mtk p25 or snapdragon 630. Processor and cheaper.

If I were just to use my photos for social medias and not sending them to National Geographic Channel, then Xperias will surely do the job.
I do wish they would release a convenient point-and-shoot Xperia because they have the potential to do it. Also a redesigned camera app is necessary with better Manual Controls. My Zenfone Max's Manual Camera Mode can do up to 32-second shutter speed.

Seriously?! HAHAHAHA! What a same and boring design, despite having a good hardware!
Battery is a.... meh. Not good enough.
I should wait for other brand models which offers something better than these smartphones.

I'm not a Sony fan but do hope they bring out a great camera.

AnonD-77443, 22 May 2017Heard the same said about the XZP.... We know how that came... moreOne thing for sure, Sony is doing the best optimization job at camera.
Got the least desirable hardware in low light, yet cannot be blown away by the competitors so easily.
Mind you, GSMArena team themselves admit that XZ Premium takes beautiful low light photos with proper equipment and knowledge. Congrats to your Samsung and LG for listening to customers, because Sony still hasn't, so we know what will happen if Sony does listen to customers.
Cheers. :-)

AnonD-40493, 22 May 2017SD835 and tiny HD display ? And what exactly is the point i... moreI think it would give much more better battery life as the gpu doesn't need to strain itself by powering a large hi-res display. And by the looks of things, the best I can expect is Z3C level battery life and the worst would be Z5C endurance. Expect Minecraft at 120fps hahahaha lol.

Woohoo~
Very excited for XZ1 Compact. I do hope the XZ1's manages to get HDR screen though. And X1 is also very interesting. X1 Compact would be a great followup to the X Compact. I don't mind 9mm thickness for the compact phones, but I do wish the bezels (all sides) are reduced for this iteration. Come on Sony, it doesn't really need to be as small as G6 or S8.

Yeaaah I hope X1 Compact really has SD835, 64GB, IP67 or above, 3.5mm jack, less-bloated skin, OIS, and SUPER SLO-MO!
If so, I may sell my OnePlus 3T and go for that.
I wonder, poor Americans aren't getting fingerprint scanner again?
Sony should work that out asap.
