Its their technology showcase not real world uses. These technologies have to be implemented in real world then we can comment whether it will be good or bad. For now this tech has a lot of potential if used in right way. Not necessarily all these technogloies will be used in smartphone. Think smaller display technology(1.9") is used to make electronic viewfinder for cameras.

AnonD-39937, 23 May 2017S8 is more fragile than G6...what were you saying? (it may ... moreWell, S8 does not have stretchy screen. Stretchy screen means it would have more elasticity that means it'll just stretch in or out depending on the impact. Stretchy screen does not mean curve.

Anonymous, 23 May 2017stretchy screens will not break easily for one. S8 is more fragile than G6...what were you saying? (it may stretch, but it's more brittle)

Sonu4678, 22 May 2017Man, you guys are so skeptical of everything. It's always n... moreExactly. We might be hating on edge display phones, but I like the idea that there are displays that are bendable, for many other uses, many of them yet unknown. For now, I am appreciating something as minor as the Gear Fit, maybe tomorrow we will all appreciate something completely unexpected that this tech will have enabled?

1.96" UHD 4K display, i though sammy boy said 5.46" 4K Panel is useless and gimmick, maybe sammy want to make 4K smart watch or standalone vr headset that has 4K display each eye

This technology would be great for general mobiles as often people drop or crack / damage the screen... so if the screen was able to better tolerate deformation rather than shattering it could save a huge number of repairs / screen replacements in theory.
Likewise the tiny screen could be great in niche uses like as a screen on a game console to allow people to play while someone else watch's something else on the TV then when they are done you can switch back to the TV full screen ^_^ (just an idea of use)
