    LG went a bit downhill this year.
    I will get the G5 but I guess for $100 more, the V20 will be a better choice.

        Could this phone work on any European network? And would there be any problems in activating the phone. If anyone has any information about this, I would really appreciate it, because I am seriously considering buying the phone. At this price, the LG G5 is a steal.

          But buying a pretty case solves the case of ugly and the rest of the goodies remain. Infinite battery (carrying a spare, charging one while using), excellent camera (still better than many/most new ones), IR (seriously useful for home devices and presentations).

          It basically did everything right except the ugly part. Every other phone has at least one glaring problem.

            For example I want to control all my home devices with my phone. I can't anymore, with LG I can.
            I want to effectively have 5000+ battery (without waiting) , carrying a spare in my LG does that.
            I want a high detail camera that can also do low light photography. G5's can, new ones only do one of the two (either less detail during the day, or less during the night)

            I want a useful aspect ratio that allows for a relatively wide screen to type on portrait. G5, G6 doesn't (narrower in portrait).

            G5 had things that are now going the way of the dodo. Most will surface as they are very useful, but it will take some years, until then G5 would shine through.

              Add to the list that LG G5 has Gorilla Glass 4 screen, while the LG G6 has only Gorilla Glass 3 screen.
              So even the screen glass of G5 is better/stronger than the G6's.

                  No offense but even LG themselves admitted G5 flopped so hard. It sucked, sucks, and will still be sucking in the future no matter how they lower the price. I probably wouldn't even want to have one even if they gave it for free. I admire their crazy antics like the modular ability, leather backs, etc. But they failed horribly. But I'm glad they're learning from their mistakes. I'm glad they corrected their mistakes with the G6. And the V-series are awesome.

All else has their batteries on the back, but this G5 you are pulling the bottom and exposing its innards and that makes me sooo sooo much more worried that's why it's probably the last phone I'll get in this world. I love LG, but G5? I'll pass.

                        Removable battery is far from a gimmick, it's basically the most important feature on a mobile device. Never again having to charge is huge (have a spare charging while using the phone). 0-100% in a minute is huge, carrying a spare is huge (twice the autonomy).

                        The gimmicky parts (LG friends) you don't have to use.

                          In general the 2016 class of phones was one of the best. 2017 class is a definite step back.

You literally can't find those features anymore. Instead you get edge screens , sealed batteries, often worse camera...

                                      Yesteryear's flagships are still better than today's mid rangers.
                                      For instance, I can now get an unlocked factory LG G4 32GB H815P for roughly $250, and for the same price, I couldn't find any 2016 mid range phone with 2K display, 16mp f1.8 lens rear camera w/ OIS (Zenfone 3 is close), and a flagship grade processor (though less efficient).

                                      I mean this G5 for $300 is a good steal apart from a somewhat dim and color inaccurate screen (but not really that bad) and poor battery life.

                                      Boot loop is nothing to me, 'cause my friend has an LG G4 that she bought for almost a year already and still is flawless apart from starting to burn-in screen.
                                      But I'd take a Samsung because I prefer OLED over any IPS screen (although I still don't like Samsung's own OLED).

                                      By the end of 2017, I'll be able to save $300 to buy a new yesteryear flagship phone.
                                      I do want the S7 Edge but it's not really future proof with the slower micro-USB port.
                                      I can get the Note 7R / FE as well, but I don't like the slightly smaller battery, but I'd pass it since it still hits the 90h mark endurance rating.

                                      If somehow that my budget won't hit my expectation before the end of 2017, I'd even consider the Note 4.
                                      I do want to get some new budget flagships from Xiaomi and OnePlus as well, so that may change my mind too.

Why you need the latest and greatest at high price when you can get it less than half the original price after a year. I even told them LG phone have one of the lowest resale value. With this new price I doubt it even have value.
