In tablets you don't do much typing anyway. Mostly reading (for me), media watching and games (for others). So the lack of serious typing is not a serious issue. Unless you buy a tablet for productivity, in that case you must be ckecked (mentally), hence why I find 2in1s terrible gimmicks.

When I talk about heavy gaming, I'm referring to how demanding a game is in terms of hardware, not it's weight. xD And yes, you can play that game with a powerful enough laptop. I already finished it.

16:10 can new used both in landscape (easily) and portrait (less easily), also it's relatively close to 1.42:1 that books use, so it can be used for reading too. Has the added benefit of being great to media.

The new IPad is supposed to have far worse screen (no infinite contrast), be heavier (very important for tablets, as they're already on the heavy side) and use an aspect ratio not know to be good for content.

On the other hand it has a better app selection. So unless you have an app in mind I think moving away from Tab S would be a downgrade.

It's pound for pound the biggest tablet and one of the best mobile screens in the mobile world ever...

I use the laptop for heavy gaming, work, drawing and writing, and the tablet for reading and watch videos or play Android games. Those 2 in 1 are useless to me, because they aren't as comfortable as a tablet nor as powerful as a gaming laptop, as the one I have. It depends heavily of the needs of the user

AnonD-657131, 24 May 2017Cuz android is better than closed shitOS On phones I agree, on tablets less so. You get more freedom, less apps, the distinction is less clear there and certainly not +$200 clear. Tab S3 has to kill prices, else it won't sell.

Also 4:3 is a no go for android , no app, no content is optimized for that woerd aspect ratio. Samsung should had gone for either 16:10 or 3:2...

But clearly one is for content creation and the other for content consumption, so they are different. You simply can't draw, can't read, heck can't even watch videos as comfortably on a laptop than in a lightweight tablet (my xperia Z4 is just 380 grams , as weightless as a book but also able to play the library of congress's amount of material and read the library of Alexandria ... *that's what tablets are for)

Also wtf? Laptops and tablets are for entirely different purposes. It's not as if having one disallows to have the other. Basically what Microsoft wrongly though, creating the abomination called 2in1 on the process

Lay down all the tablets on a table and I swear I can't name each and every single one of them. I don't like tablets, ever. They look all the same so their names are useless for me. iPads included. Give me a laptop and I'll be good.

Too expensive. They have to go full new IPad if they want to compete. No way would someone prefer an android tab for $200 than you can get an iPad with almost twice the battery life and tablet optimized alp selection...

Just ordered the Tab S2 which costs exactly half of Tab S3 here in Denmark. I cannot justify paying that insane premium for a device that doesn't have this year's technology inside it. I mean the superior Ipad pro is cheaper! Also the glass back is killing whatever urges I had left to buy this device.

Has a big wifi sleep bug, check xda, do not buy this till samsung issues a fix.

I seen the Hisense Vidaa Mirror tablet. Looking back at Tab S3 make it feel outdated. In term of design of course.

Ipad 10.5 something i will upgrade to, from s1 tab. Will be missing amoled but if hdr is offered on ipad it will be best.. 16:9 is best for movies as well as magazine reading. For browsing it may not be goid but in landscape mode, try it u will love. I always hoped samsung will go for 10.5 in s3... samsung didnot see 10.5 ipad coming. Samsung sometimes introduces best innovations, but doesnot stick to it, except amoled screen.. but in tv it doesnot offer oled...
