Well we have to accept the fact it's because iPhone produced red, others will follow suit. It's a fact. Stop being blind. Even Android fans can obviously see that.

Would you be able to choose your own rgb color option, it would be even more premium. To have a phone looking the same as million others is not quite premium feeling. Not everyone use cases, it mostly defeats the point of phone being thin with a small battery.

I'm not a fanboy in any way, I use an iPhone, but if it were plastic, why would they diamond cut it? That's a curious question for me.

Correct me if im wrong, isnt the XZP Glass on the back like all z series?
Cause if so, there is no need to have plastic frame.
Plastic frame is only needed if aluminium back without ugly plastic lines like on iphone and old htc.
all X series sonys have plastic or partially plastic frame.
XZ Premium is no exception sadly.

this color will take the definition of ugly to another level... Xperia divison thinks they are still as popular as apple or samsung,.. grow up... your phones hardly sell.. and this year it isnt even in top 10 list

plastictoctictoc, 24 May 2017top and bottom frame are metals too bad.. left and right ... moreIf you look at Sony's design from the Z3 onwards, there have been little plastic inlets on the corners of the device for shock resistance, and this handset's plastic side rails also do the same thing. It has a better chance of survival if it ever drops. Check out JerryRigEverything's durability video of the Xiaomi Mi5 and the Xperia XZ and you will see how not every plastic is fragile and some of them can be quite premium looking. Try holding an XZ and you will feel the substance of the phone. It is much more durable than what you might expect.

They can get the most uninteresting color in the world and the XZ Premium would still be a stunner.
