15 April, 2011
Mangoes are apparently good for mobile web browsers – the Internet Explorer 9 that comes with the Mango update for Windows Phone 7 beat the iPhone's Safari and the Android Browser at a rendering...

What on earth are you talking about? you don't need to root an android phone to access 'full features'? what on earth is locked by a manufacturer customized phone?

Nevertheless, Nokias appears to be really stepping up the. game both for windows phone 7 and Symbian Anna. The game isn't quite afoot yet. But in the next year, I think it might be.

You guys realise that Elop said they "probably won't" modify WP7 right?
You guys also realise that WP7 has more restrictions than iOS right?
C'mon, even the first iPhone had USB Mass Storage.

My advice to you guys is to wait for these amazing updates before you go buy a Nokia WP7 Phone, I'd hate to see you dissapointed.

just FYI Samsung's Galaxy S phones (so not the Nexus S) sport a GPU accelerated browser.
Tried to start the demo on it tho and it's at 0 fps and usually stop mid-way. Same on non-accelerated browser and other browsers for the phone. Kinda odd. Maybe (as in SURELY) MS uses a special version for mobile.

I would rather prefer an actual advantage from a newer browser, like actually being faster, or load faster certain webpages, support flash, etc...

Nokia will soon port all of the features the Symbian fanboys loved over to their new WP7 phones. Today I am with Android, next year I will be WP7.

If you talk about restrictions and if least restriction is the best then Symbian is the best in that way.
There's system wide file manager which can search, edit, zip, unzip, view and edit hex, edit attributes, send jar, archive app setup for future install without redownloading, you name it.
You can get cert and key easily to sign any app. You can patch rom so easily and flashing and installing cfw is super easy.
You can use it as flash drive, heck you even have usb on the go.
                        Clear winner.

So this is how nokia deals with restrictions and expect the same from WP7 with subsequent updates.

If any of your sense among the five is working you'll notice how active WP7 has become after Microkia merger. Things sound impressive even before we get our 1st nokiaWP7.
Those who said nokia is dead, please raise your hands again.

What about Opera Mobile? Of course they'll ignore it. After all Opera Mobile 11 scores twice more than the curent IE 9 for desktop - 234 vs 130 points (as per html5test.com) :-)

Is like iOS I hate can't send Bluetooth, but all of that list can be modded in near future, even the Mango Upgrade have som fixes around, but really I hope they give to us more control over the gadget...No more iOS like limitations :D

Just like iOS everything goes through Zune for WP7 so you can't use it as flash drive, you can't exactly modify the UI, there are few more that I don't remember from top of my head. Just go read Dave's list just below.

Android doesn't need hardware tweak for full access... wtf? Access to what? Name some restrictions because I haven't seen any on the phones and on net.

Some people use the phone to its full potential with custom skin applied by manufacturers. You do not need stock Android to use use all the features available. And you definitely don't need to unlock your phone for anything.

Nevertheless, for someone that looks hard for smooth and fast web browsing experience on phones, this is a great news.

This bodes well for Nokia, who I hear will be packing some serious processing power into it's first WP7 phone.
