Anonymous, 01 Jun 2017But if you aren't gamer even 2GB ram is enough.it depends on how heavy is the manufacturer's skin...if you have a nexus/pixel then 2GB of RAM are enough for any day-to-day task...but if you have a heavy skin like the Samsung one, then better get as much RAM as you can.

Boy o boy, all these well built, we'll specced n good looking 5.5" new smart phones are very very tempting. But I have to stay strong n not be tempted...I really want that 5.7"--6.0" QHD (16:9AR) screen phone with slim bezels, very good camera, top 2017 specs with a huge well optimized 4000mAh+ battery. If I can't find that, then I will take a 5.5" screen, slim bezels and huge battery.
I like the Essential PH-1 phone but I have to wait till I see the Pixel XXL 2, Huawei Mate 10, LG V30, Sammy''s Note 8, MI Mix 2, ZTE Axon 8, Nokia's flagship 7. 8 or 9.
Hmm tough choices...just too many good devices to choose from.

AnonD-606096, 01 Jun 2017that was at launch time do you live under a rock or something ? nope , just not that interested in crappy Chinese phones that look great on paper only but trash in reality ...anyway multitasking on the oneplus3 and 3t is still the same as on the phones with 4GB of ram. ...so I'm still correct about that - it can't hold more than 3-4 heavy apps in memory, and that it consumes significantly more power .

LG superfan, 01 Jun 2017RAM does not comsume batteryit does consume more power , and what's the point in having more than 4GB if the phone can't utilize it . oneplus3 has 6GB yet it barley can hold 3-4 heavy apps in background without reloading ...

SixDice, 01 Jun 2017very good looking phone. As much as I love to get this bad ... more"just a step up"? The 10nm process is not "just a step up" from a 14nm process. This isn't 810 from 808 or 821 from 820. Look up the benefits of a lithography shrink and tell me again that it's "just a step up".

very good looking phone. As much as I love to get this bad boy, I will wait till the next chip set. Arms are coming with some new chip which I believe will make the 835 chip old, very old fast.
The 835 chip is just a step up from the 820 but the coming DynamIQ A75 and A55 will blow everything out of the water.
I will wait.
p.s.
anyone know how good are ZTE are with updates? another reasons to think before getting this phone.

Very good specs but its hardly going to be available in many countries, unlike the Axon series.
ZTE need to quickly release the Axon 8 with a FHD screen, Snapdragon 835 and 4000mah battery. (backlit keys too).
They need to give OP some competition.

AnonD-39937, 01 Jun 2017If the extra amount of RAM is not used properly then it's w... moreIt's always I used properly. This is android/Linux we're talking about, not Windows. The point of extra ram is caching and a far smoother environment "instant computing"

sr777, 01 Jun 2017More RAM = more power consumption.
There is an amount h... moreCan people who make such bone headed comments name me one person who only uses one app?
I mean who cares if there is one app that uses 1GB of ram or not (and yes there is, I have seen the FB app nearing 1GB the other day)?
That's not how ram works on android/Linux. Most of it is used for caching, not for the foreground app, giving you a far smoother experience than if you simply ran on nand.
30 years of Windows made people misunderstand the poi t of ram (it's not just about the foreground app at all)
