Just 7.1.1? It's good to have a Pixel. Got that update like nearly three months ago.

An AOSP ROM on a Note 4 is hardly a fair comparison is it? I am beginning to doubt you will ever upgrade to anything. I actually tell you I own both phones and compare like with like and you come back with Apple vs. Oranges arguments.

So to cap it off ... slow, low battery, slow charging, not wide enough for typing on portrtait... I mean there is nothing good about it... A downgrade.

Anonymous, 05 Jun 2017It does not work is the usage pattern that I don't want to ... moreYou don't feel as if you use a second battery. You use a phone (with a battery inside) and you use a charger (that happens to have a battery inside).

Guess what you already using. A phone (with a battery inside) and a damn slow charger. You use the exact same amount of hardware. In one case you delay battery wear by one half (use two batteries), in the other you wait almost two hours for 100%, tether your phone, wear your battery.

It's literally a no-brainer if you own a phone with swappable batteries. Just say "I didn't think about it", instead of saying it's "not my pattern" ... it's everyone's pattern since it doesn't break from your pattern, in fact it requires from you to do less... (less waiting for one).

You lose core functions and get peripheral ones.

Note 4 Exynos with a clean rom is very near in performance with S8 in everything but games. I own a shop, so tried them side by side. The hardware is very similar, where Note 4 loses is GPU alone (i.e. games).

You don't have to remember to charge them. When you make the swap you instantly put the other charging (as you remove the spare from the charger).

Like I said , a Ferrari used as a Fiat.

Swapping batteries work in all usage patterns.

I don't want to have to have spare chargers and extra batteries to worry about. The S8 Plus has better battery endurance than my Note 4 ever did for my usage pattern. At no point, even from new, did I ever get 24 hours out of my Note 4. By the way please don't assume I haven't thought of it. I used to do precisely that with original Note 1 back in the day and frankly it was a pain. Yes I would prefer user replaceable batteries but it is not the end of the world. If it comes to it I will take the phone to a Samsung store and get them to swap it out, if necessary. Sorry, and you seem to have a real problem accepting this, but the S8 Plus is much faster than the Note 4 ever was, even from when the Note 4 was new. By the way their is a bolt on case that also acts as an extra battery for the S8 Plus that gives it another 3000 mAh. Granted you won't see all of that but at least it does exist. The other point and unfortunately this goes for many top end phones I wanted a water resistant phone so I would not be afraid to use it in the rain. It is your perogative to buy or not buy what you like but please don't insult my decisions just becasue that don't concur with yours.

Similarly, I have tried staying with the S7 Edge, and Note7 - No matter how efficient their processor are, they all draw the same energy for LTE connection. You would get "24 hours" with the way you personally use your device.

I use 2GB of daily data on the average that brings the battery to 15-20% on the 9th hour. I don't have to carry a power bank because I have an extended 10,000 mAh battery.

Install TWRP via Odin (put phone in download mode, connect it to computer, load the file to the AP option, press start):

                                  https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767131053

Then it's easy to install a ROM just by following the instructions (use stock kernel when asked):
                                  https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/rom-erobot-rom-note4-1-0-xxu2dpcb-t3357271

Just do the "how to flash" part once you've booted to TWRP (adb reboot recovery).

                                  Basically it's 3 steps.

                                  Install TWRP recovery
Boot to recovery (via adb preferably)
Factory reset and Install the Rom

After that your phone will take flight. Work as fast as any modern phone running everything latest...

                                  Peace

You can literally find no phone as feature packed to this day. So you can stick with Samsung as long as Marshmallow is still modern and as long as it is getting updates if not from Samsung, certainly from the community.

I can't imagine being on Note 4 Exynos and going to any other phone. I mean why? Exynos 5433 is almost on par with any modern CPU , QHD Amoled is actually better than most flagships'.

Unless you *need* the better GPU that modern phones offer I can think of literally no other reason to move away from Note 4

So you bought Note 4, used 1/3rd of its possiblities, then bought an S8 used 80% of its capacities and call S8 the better phone? Are you kidding me?

It has the most battery than any phone I know. It's not even a debate. I was never out of battery since I bought the phone. Simple how, bought two spares. Once to carry and one to charge while away.

Like I said , Samsung peaked with Note 4 , it's all the way down since.
