OMG, so they have decided to fix the problems of the previous phones (yay!) but decided to supersize the new one so they will only be available as plus phones, typical >.>

            Another android OEM

            Not sure whos gonna die
Nokia ? Amazon ICE ? or Xolo ?............ Samsung ? and Xiaomi ?

AnonD-234961, 05 Jun 2017Yeah, but I know very few people willing to throw away $100. There is a huge amount of regular consumers out there that don't care for insane phone features. They want to be able to reach their kids, do some browsing and maybe play some games. At 100$ this is a huge bargain. It will no doubt win a lot of people over. And a brand they can count on. Amazon has insanely good customer service.

This is the kind of phone Amazon should've made a while back. Put stock android on it and a decent camera and keep the screen at 5-inches MAX (even 4.7" would be awesome) and it'll sell like hotcakes, especially if it's dual sim.

If they make the screen size under 5" there is market for it. Only good phone that is under 5" is Samsun A3 with it's 4.7" screen but there are no models out there that have 4.5 or 4 inch that have 720p screen and other nice specs.

I am one of these people who sees 4" a bit to small and 5" is already a bit to big cause it makes the body so big that the phone don't fit in the pocket. If you want to be different then make a good phone that is smaller screen and mid range specs with the budget price. Market is full of companies with the screen size of 5.2 and 5.5 with every price range.

Make a phone that is maximum of 4.7 and your alone without competition.

I have Fire Phone and is best phone i had(for 100$), but go to HELL Amazon with your BOOTLOADER LOCKED

I think will be more interesting than A or XA series, as it will be affordable amazons flagship, not some get-together product without any premium features.

Sounds like a great plan to me. Instead of imitating Apple, they leverage their strengths and create a very affordable smartphone which can then bee filled with software designed to make you purchase more from Amazon.

However, the problem with the 435 is the 28nm build, which means poor battery life. They should use the 14nm Snapdragon 625 instead, or an upcoming 4-core 14nm Snapdragon, it would be a perfect midrange phone.

With that kind of price tag and specs, perfect for my parents. Minimal and simple design. They don't do too much on their phones anyways. :)

TechLover1, 05 Jun 2017Hmm let's see, but at least the price is definitely cheap. It's a snapdragon 435 which is a low end CPU, so the price is cheap. Though it's not a bad CPU, running stock Android on it still feels fast, but it depends on how good Amazon software is (which is usually atrocious).

This is what they should of done the first time. No one is going to buy a flagship amazon phone. But ive literally bought about 8 fire tablets over the last few years for my nieces and nephews because kids are rough on their devices and i have amazon services. Now one is a teenager. Id just start buying fire phones instead of tablets if its cheap
