The Exynos 9610 has an octa-core big.LITTLE processor and is built on the same process as Galaxy S7's chipset.

"the S660 does use Qualcomm’s Kryo cores"

Qualomm Kryo cores are now just rebranded ARM A73. They are not using custom cores anymore. They have a new ARM license which allows them to rebrand stock ARM cores.

Zero, 06 Jun 2017Everything is OK... Until we see the GPU... Damnit Samsung!... morewhat did you expect if so? if YOU built the exynos 9610. how many Mali G72 cores you'd place? (I personally I'd place 6 at 700 MHz)

It's good to see Samsung finally has taken steps to challenge Qualcomm in the upper-midrange segment.

Probably a good and fast chip, but it will only be available in overpriced Samsug devices, more or less. A 660 device can be had for half almost.

[deleted post]The exynos 7872 seem to be targeted at lower midrange, so it still ok

I'm eager to see an Exynos with some A75 and A55. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until the Exynos 10-series flagship (the 8895 is the Exynos 9-series flagship for some unspecified reason)

The 9610 is definitely going to be an interesting competitor to the 660 even if they could've added some M1 chips

Definitely it's a good news, for all the mid-rangers (& premium mid). It will be interesting to compare it with the SD660. Well done to Samsung then. And the best thing is as the article itself stated, "this seems to be one of 2016’s best chipsets reborn for the mid-range market."

I think this should be A53. Unless I missed any big announcement by ARM

Good in performance and in multitasking too. Exynos always a beadt in multitasking. Thumbs up

A A75+A55 combo with DynamIQ would be too powerful, even beating the current generation of flagship SOCs...that's why they stick with last gen stuff until 2018
