India set to overtake the US, become the second largest smartphone market

Mobile phones have became basic need in India especially in urban parts where the smartphone market is huge as retail stores ,even milk vendors are switching to app ,we have 4g phones available as low as 25 dollars on contract

    It's probably true that people in some areas are living in poverty, but there are a lot of people who do not. 1.2bln people with an average per capita GDP of 1850$ (PPP of 7000$) can buy a lot of phones .. not iPhones, but still.
    (evidently it's a shame that almost 150million people in India are below the 1.9%/day poverty line, but things will change in time)

So practically anybody can own a flagship there. Heck they even had BOGO offers on S8. Don't forget that many Chinese manufactures do not sell in US. I have seen Americans whine about that too lol.

                              India is flooded with cheap chinese oems and the population of India is a lot more than of US. Putting this in perspective, US is still largest smartphone market.
