Not too happy with update so far. Very unstable now. Gallery is new but is not working well at all. Seems to be so much slower than before too opening apps. Lost most of my contacts but was able to restore them using "mobile backup" and they were not under "hidden" contacts, which I just do not understand why this feature even exists?? My contacts are constantly showing up there and cannot figure out why?? Three or four of the apps didn't work after the update until I removed the shortcuts from my screen and reinstalled them. Been having a lot of connection issues with the web. I don't believe its a T-Mobile issue since we are a T-Mobile Authorized Dealer, so I would know about it. The update also removed the "lock screen" option which I used all the time and replaced it with a "in-pocket detection" feature that hasn't worked at all. I do like calendar improvements and the backup features including contacts to sd card option.

Serious problems with new update for u.s. defy. Installed only 2 days ago and the issue are a plenty. Ear piece is not working but speaker phone is. Cannot setup visual voicemail. Phone has also shutdown while viewing internet pages. Is this a upgrade? Right now this is no upgrade its a complete failure in my book.

I'm just waiting for the guys at xda developers forum for the stable Android 2.3. This Froyo update from Motorola is nothing just to stay in pace with other brands. If they are really in serious update, why not develop Gingerbread?

I got a UK DEFY on Vodafone in December 2010 and ALL the features mentioned by GSMArena that T-Mobile users will be getting (such as WiFi hotspot functionality, SD card storage etc) are already avail on mine. So, I don't think these are Froyo features, as I'm still running 2.1.
(Related: I started to experience problems with my DEFY recently - such as the screen remaining black and non responsive after moving it away from my ear after a call, but Vodafone re-installed the OS while I waited and all is good now.) Looking forward to 2.2 anyway.

i have 2 defys.. its preety cheep in my country and i must say that defys scrolling over the menus on 2.1 is much faster then Dhd on stock froyo (i ve seen that in T mobile store)!!!
CYANOGENMOD 7 HAS BEEN PORTED TO DEFY 2.3.3 and its running just fine, phone can bee overclocked to 1200mhz if needed but 1000 and even stock 800 is just enough.

Defy already have WVGA AND 720P VIDEO RECORDING on froyo! ! (check XDA forums)

i can say just this: Go for it, you cant find any phone like this for just 300$.

I think they allready had the update last year, but never release it cause of marketing strategy, new phones have to be sold so i think for the sales was the best time in end of april in USA , not selling in Europe the right amount of phones? Dont worry the update its here :)) , Hope the basterds release that update, cause my ear speaker is down how they predict it :).
