TechLover1, 11 Jun 2017Well, okay we can criticize that it doesn't include a 3.5mm... moreIf you describe a flagship only by pure processing power, then anything better than SD 625 can be one. Just put in a fast enough memory and you won't notice a difference until you run a benchmark. For me a true flagship means its usability. Glass back looks nice, but it's awful when you have to keep cleaning it every minute (and yes, every phone with glass back is disqualified in my opinion). Lack of a headphone jack is another thing we should discourage manufacturers from. HTC almost perfected the DAC last year with the 10, and now they're dropping it for no reason. The squeeze frame is just a gimmick, but the same goes for the curved screen and additional tickers, so I don't really care. Overall it's a good smartphone, but definitely not "hot".

AnonD-39937, 11 Jun 2017No Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless headphones , no "Hot" from me...Android doesn't support BT 5.0 yet, so even if Galaxy S8 has it, you can't use it until Android O brings the support for it.

Well, okay we can criticize that it doesn't include a 3.5mm jack (better with than without), and that the bezels are pretty huge (they must work hard to reduce them), plus that the squeezing feature is so&so... .But those apart, overall, the U11 is a quite good flagship competitor. And an option for the S8, G6 and so on. So for the overall, I voted for Hot.

            Actually I'm a longtime HTC fan, and I'll buy U11! )

I remember when I saw one m7 for the very first time. No other HTC phone makes me excited. Sorry HTC.

I waited for HTC ocean. it`s concept know but i hope they can buid it. i think it`s great phone. it`s realy beautiful.

Definitely hot! Waterproofing and the audio package is what I'm buying.

This may one of the only 2017 handset unit's I am considering obtaining this year, despite not having a native 3.5 mm headphone jack. I wonder if BlackBerry will release a flagship level unit between now and the fall of 2018? Nokia looks to potentially have a hit on it's hands with the forthcoming Nokia 8/9 too.

I pre-ordered the U11 unlocked off the HTC site. Paypal interest free financing was a great deal. No carrier bloatware is a plus. I like something different every year. I've had Samsung, LG, Iphones, etc. This phone rocks!
No headphone jack is necessary to get the premium sound. Small trade-off for me. And the battery can be 3000 due to the 835 processor, which uses less power. And I actually like a device with some bezel. These all glass screens are not for me.
Will wait and see if it meets all my expectations.

...if You don't like the price HTC U11 - then buy a S8 or S8+ or ZTE, UMI...)))

Overall it is a solid, different and beautifully crafted device. Yes HTC do like to try new things and after watching the launch of U11 in detail, there is so much to like and appreciate. The One S with the S4 chip, M8, One A9, HTC 10 and now the U11. well done.
