Report says LG G7 and V30 may arrive earlier than usual

      I doubt the Snapdragon 845 will be available as early as Jan 2018.

              Stan, 15 Jun 2017LCD is just as susceptible to burn in as OLED, Plasma, CRT,... moreYou are a good example of when somebody try to validate his purchase, because the truth hurts you. You can't accept the truth that OLED is inferior to LCD. LCD is not susceptible to burn in at all.

              The burn-in is unavoidable in OLED. Even if they use pixel shift, and even if you avoid static content (which you can't avoid completely because for example the UI elements are static, and the situation is worse with S8 because it has on-screen navigation keys), it will still burn in because OLED degrades unevenly. Discoloration will happen, blotches appear etc. The pixels that used for brighter colors degrade faster. Even the different color subpixels have different lifespan.

              Samsung use PenTile subpixels to delay the burn-in. But it degrades the display quality, it makes the screen more pixelated compared to RGB LCD. And it will still burn in.

              The disadvantages of OLED far outweigh it's advantages compared to LCD.

              Haha, you used the always-on display feature to argue in favor of OLED, but in reality always-on is what kills the OLED the fastest.

              Non-removable battery and OLED screen have the shortest lifespan in a phone. They are good examples of planned obsolescence. Manufacturers want to enforce people to buy new phones every few years. People are too primitive and don't care about it. They only care about the oversaturated screen, thin, shiny glass phone body. People are manipulated by the marketing and they are wasting their money every year on junk, disposable phones that have non-removable battery and OLED screen.

                Yes, better in August, so we'll have a stellar battle with the Note 8. Both with even better (presumably) bezel-less, both (again, probably) with dual camera setup, and both with the SD836 (hopefully). It will definitely be really interesting (& which will be the best?).

There's a reason why Samsung phones have some of the highest endurance ratings in their class. The degradation is not important on a smartphone, because typically they're replaced before they even begin to manifest the color shift. It is much more important for TVs though, as one can use a TV for 10+ years. I still have a 42" Sony Plasma from 2007, and it's still going strong.

It's just a quesion of time and how it manifests itself. OLED damage is permanent, and shows as individual color pixels not being as bright anymore. LCD damage is semi-permanent, where individual pixels losing ability to return into a relaxed or a semi-relaxed state.

                    There are ways to partially mitigate OLED burn in, such as pixel shift (i've read somewhere that Samsung was doing it). This would be sufficient for a phone to last up to 4 years, which is about the max for anyone using a high end phone. On top of that after 4 years, the battery will have only about 60-70% of it's initial capacity, being another reason to replace the phone.

                    While being disadvantaged by a permanent burn in, OLED has many advantages, one of which is a much higher power efficiency than an LCD. This reason alone is very important for an 'always-on' display.

                      My S5 and Galaxy Alpha (from 2014) in perfect condition say you hello. Just like my S6 and LG Oled TV from 2015.

                          If v30 will have oled they LG will either have to remove secondary display or use lcd secondary display cause oled will get burn in I prefer lcd over led actually and LG dont use glass back keep it metal

                                LG please put all your technology for your next phone like LI POLYMER type power battery and oled. I know now is the best time to showcase your technology because you waited gor so long to developed it.

                                        Launch in January with availability in May. Asians and americans get the full version and Europe the crippled version. Remove features like infrared and notification led... When will you ever learn LG??
