Nielsen asked US consumers about smartphone OS' during the first quarter of this year and found out that Android has been the most popular with new buyers lately and the most desirable OS too. Interestingly...

    [deleted post]Most surveys conducted will carry a margin of error, which usually falls between 1 and 5 percent.

    Admittedly, researchers should disclose the margin with a disclaimer prior to announcing their finds.

          As Lincoln said, "you can fool some, one time; you can fool most, many times; but you cannot fool ALL, all the time."

          Apple fooled too many the first time it came out in 1997, and it was a great time for profits for Apple. But Apple jacked up the price, until it reached the roof, but Many people still bought it despite the low tech, and iphone 3G was a big hit.

          Now, customers are WISER. Customers want CHOICES, and they want AFFORDABLE price and GOOD FEATURES; They want Free apps, and Better Hardware. They want to buy SMART, and buy only when they are satisfied.

          iOS and APPLE "fooled" tons of people in its time, and that is enough. Now, people are FED UP and they are choosing a SMARTER option: ANDROID, which wont require them to BLEED MONEY every time they use their phone.

          Now, the people chose ANDROID. Coz as Uncle Sam said,"you can't fool everyone, all the time."

                    It's Apple's decision to restrict iOS to Apple only, locking out 3rd parties. So the it's fair to compare the numbers of iOS phones to Android across multiple vendors. Apple's control-freak attitude would never allow for that.

                      there is no real reason not to put fm radio, a lot of people still listen to it. its not complicated or anything

                      -No stereo speakers >>>can you appreciate the stereo sound on a mobile? Get a mini-component.
                      ok, stereo isnt needed so much, but speakers on iphone are rubish

                      -No microSD card slot >>>So? Does it matter? carry a laptop if you have terrabytes of data to load coz even SD card cannot handle it.
                      it may not matter with 32gb on board, but 16 or 8 are to small. especially considering, lets say, hd video or hd games

                      -No smart dialing>>>???
                      well, iphone isnt trully a smartphone, so smart dialing isnt necessary

                      -Too dependent on iTunes for loading multimedia content>>> This one i don't like first, but when you get used to it, i like it even more, it's easier to organized and managed music.
                      Still, using the iphone on a pc without itunes would be more practical

Apple tries to apply high school style peer pressure to make you the bad guy for wanting a choice. I couldn't believe it when my iPhone wouldn't let me adjust the fontsize nor create shortcuts to my most common tasks. It's kind of like going cloths shopping and being told we have only one size. xman

                                  Apple is run by greedy b's who only like to play when the deck is stacked in their favor. It serves them right that Google's open architecture Android platform has passed them by. I've never downloaded an Ap from the iStore, nor purchased a song from iTunes. I never will... Hopefully soon, RIM will wake up from their coma and bury these guys as well.

                                    anon , 27 Apr 2011its clevr andorid. good luck. but i think things will chang... moremakes no different..IOS still will be underdog..Unless apple release different device which contains QWERTY keyboard,Gaming Controller,Slimmer etc...Consumer are not stupid to waste their money on something which doesn't fit them, example businessman prefer QWERTY thats why they chose android phone with QWERTY keyboard and Blackberry...Apple doesn't provide them any choice, so for those who wish to use IOS but don't like the design still have to buy iphone4 because they had no choice..how poor of them :/

                                      I guess ppl were bored to see the same old design of iOS since 2007! no homescreen so no question of widgets. iOS is all about a menu with fixed icons.
