Rugged but wifi only, so what's... moreThere are actually quite a few enterprise use cases for indoor rugged specs in restaurants, distribution centers, manufacturing, etc. where the drop spec plus durability (splash and dust resistant) are important factors to maximize uptime of the device.

There's wifi only version.. Rugged but wifi only, so what's the purpose being rugged?

The old ones have removable battery. Hope this one too.

Ha, just bought LTE version of 2014 model for use as a sales device. Really excellent design and build quality! I was just saying yesterday to our staff it is a much underrated device that thanks to its 8" display, can be held in one hand, but it isn't that snappy and an upgraded version would be welcome. And now this, what incredible timing!

Battery life on 2014 model.is great. And it is a phone!

Before people complain "NO! It has no SD835, it sucks!", this tablet is meant for EXTREME CONDITIONS. And I mean scientific research in some areas that has high humidity or in extreme cold conditions. It won't have gamer-ready specs, but more of ports and connectors for scientific equipment.

The original Tab Active had 800 x 1280 screen resolution. Hopefully, the new model will have 1536 x 2048, just like some of Apple's iPad tablets.

Low-end internals are good as they run cool and use less energy.

It will probably be launched along side the S8 Active.

who cares, its a big device, it will break or bend anyway from a normal drop, only the water resistence will have a big effect

Too bad I was hoping something between high-end and mid-range at least but if so, then I shouldn't expect any success at all.
