They're among the limited (albeit increasing) amount of handset manufacturers that feature native hi-res audio support. I'm looking forward to seeing what Sony debuts at the 2018 mobile world conference.

It would be nice to review audiophile grade digital audio player with phone features onkyo dp-cmx1, it makes sounds like cassette player, it's such a revelation in audio quality

Sometimes gsmarena don't mention phone features or Audio/phone related product which have unique features which can be phone related

Ldac featured since 2015 (Sony Xperia z4 and z5) as high fidelity wireless audio standard, makes standard Bluetooth sounds so compressed, but mentions it's rivals aptx HD and Bluetooth 5 even though ldac has higher bitrate

Sony digital noise cancellation which has been on Sony phones since 2014, Sony Xperia z2, requires mdr-nc31em or high resolution but released in 2015 mdr-nc 750, it makes air conditioning, air plane , trains, perfectly quiet with very minimal or non noticeable distortion, but has advantages over noise isolation

          I always love Sony products.

"Imagine if one day suddenly your lossless FLAC files were replaced with 64kbps MP3 files and you’d know what the sound quality is really like."

            With '64kbps' MP3 files!? LOL

            How bad these headphones are...

Strange, I have the basic wired XB950 and they sound extremely good for the price but they have NO DSP or shitty electronics. They sound at least 70% as good as the much more expensive MDR-1A and I've heard hundreds of other low and high end headphones and XB950 are some of the best value wise - so go for the wired version and be happy (and also have bass :D ) I still own the XB950 even though my main driver is the HD650.

"People with better taste in sound will have to look elsewhere." HAHAHAHA I Lol'd

Fair review but don't you have any waveforms or measurements to show to prove the lack in high frequencies?

Thank you for an honest review of these headphones.
