I for one want some bezels on the sides, as I hate the accidental touches from just holding the phone. Top and bottom bezel I don't mind being smaller though, but I don't think OnePlus 5 has bad bezels, at least compared to many Sonys out there at the moment.

I wouldn't pay an extra 100 of any currency just to get less bezels than what the OnePlus 5 has, but you might if you value that. That's the beauty of this thing, we all have the chance to buy the phone that suits our needs, demands and budget the best. Around here you can't get an S8 for under 800€ :D

Crzykiller, 19 Jun 2017Clearly you know nothing about OnePlus devices nor have you... moreI'd like to say the same for you concerning LG phones. Laggy? They're extremely smooth.
What's funny is that all over the web you hear of people talking about how buggy OnePlus (all versions) and how terrible the software is. The hardware seems great, but the size of the phone clearly doesn't target everyone.
You're either paid or you installed a custom rom on your oneplus.

Apple patents other companies' existing hardware technology as a utility patent with a slight twist like the shape or a propriety use they may have concocted. It just shows how broken the US patent system is.

AnonD-259152, 20 Jun 2017Unless it was iPhone, right? No, no way Jose.

I've hated iTunes, iOS and iPhone hardware for so long. And that was after owning two.
                  Though I must give credit where credit is due;
                  - the hardware (cpu/gpu) is a beast
                  - the camera is among the best
                  - iOS Apps run much more efficiently than Android ones
                  - there's a greater consistency among the first party and third party User Interface
                  - there are much more third-party accessories
                  - there's much more third party support
                  - there's much better first-party/customer support

Now that Apple makes "phablet" sized phones, and with iOS 8, there were a lot of features iOS added that were a staple in my Android experience. I only have two hesitations; iOS doesn't support AndroidWear, but that issue is sorted. And that iOS doesn't have a File Manager/Drag and Drop, and that issue seems to be in focus for iOS 11-12. Basically, I have no qualms with iPhones.... though Default App selection would be nice.

No small bezels and small camera sensors. Great, plus using it we'd look like Apple copycats. So far that is the most disappointing One Plus phone, the first one I stopped even considering.

so if "minimum bazel" is a premium feature only for expensive phones (which is not accurate, coz htc u11 is also very bad @ only 71.4%) ....well, guess I'll have to go for an expensive phone like s8

p.s. if the price is indeed starting @ 500 us dollars, the different to the normal s8 is only around $100, which can be found for around $600 on many places

From GSMArena's "Trending Now" list, OP5 has finally overtaken the GS8 in the trend, mainly because of its near launching time.

On another note, it's quite funny yet impressive at how the XZ remained at the top 3.
Those who have defeated it in the top 3 are now losing to it. Very well. LOL

Apple copy or not, I feel OnePlus 5 will be a huge success for the company if they can get rid of stock & availability problems.

                                    1) Patent something
                                    2) "Leak" the patent
                                    3) Let the copycat Android manufacturers trip over themselves to put out a half-baked phone that includes their new feature before anybody else
                                    4) Enjoy the free R&D costs as you watch which products fail and which products actually bring something to the table

They've done this so often, it's amazing that you people continue to autistic screech "Herr derr the HTC Motorola XT98327492 had it first reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Everybody is trying so hard to copy Apple the fastest that none of you autists realize they are just outsourcing their R&D.

Full touch display, glass back, fingerprint scanners, dual cameras, force touch, smartwatches, and now integrated fingerprint readers. All came out of Apple patent "leaks." Already on phones that will be out six months before iPhone 7s/8. Guess who will get it right and make a profit?

Apple literally announced the smartwatch market, then waited two years while they let everyone figure out what a smartwatch was supposed to do in the first place. Now Android wear has been an absolute disaster of a market, completely collapsed as a revenue generator, and today only 2 manufacturers can even make a smartwatch without taking a loss. Apple is one of them.

But "reeeeeeee Apple wasn't fyrstr!" No, they didn't have to be. They were just the first to make these technologies profitable.

The economists recognize it, the common man recognizes it, but Pranjeep who posts on gsmarena and poops in the street thinks he knows something more than the rest of the world because some rare phone that nobody uses and was literally abandoned after four months by the manufacturer had a feature "first."
