Sad that the folks at gsmarena are actually criticizing the phone for this. Touchscreen phones are the only ones that ever used glass. The older candybar phones almost never had glass, firstly, cuz you'd never use your nails on it anyway, secondly, cuz the screen area itself is only a small part.

I understand the thumbs up. Less the lens cover, daily events such as scratch and bends will not reduce the functionality of the device.
Sure it easily get cosmetic damages, but that does not sound too bad for the price IMHO.

And the 'lighter test', well to me it is as useful as if they tested if they could hammer a nail through it.

So before we had phones with plastic screens (and most likely a plastic protector on top of it so you wouldn't fear any drops but if it scratched you could simply replace a foil of plastic) and now you have huge glass displays that virtually cracks with smallest drop/bend... so everyone is caring thoughtfully about those devices...
truth be told - I would prefer all-plastic phone that you basically could throw and then use it again (sometimes re-assembly was required) instead of what we have now... not to mention that metal/glass is terrible when you want to use it - it's quite often very cold/warm, which wasn't the issue with plastic dumb phones...

But your not going to stab up your 3310 with a blade man even the old one would scratch so what they were actually trying to prove here is stupid and not necessary, who the hell holds a lighter to a phone like a fool again something not necessary, also who the hell bends a phone like that do me a favor, these stupid durability tests seem to have taken over now its like a kraze and its so so boring.

Hmmm I think the Original 3310 doesn't rely on durability against scratches but it's all about the survivability of the phone itself from numerous drops on the floor. Because anytime you can buy some Xpress On Cases that makes your phone look as a brand new one. :P
