Perhaps some are questionable, but I instead see the positive side of these tests and is that force brands to al least try to keep an eye in their quality to maintain it's reputation. Without durability tests, waterproof ones, plus the public feedback and critics from customers, about all in youtube, popular webs, etc. Like it happened with the batteries, the fast response and recall due to the public pressure and possible legal consequences.
I've seen censure in some official forums, silent from customer-support services and usually try to avoid having the responsibility, to avoid costs at all costs!
Businesses always have, at least, one person who is aware of what is being posted about them.
